Thank you for posting these part number. I have seen other posts asking for them and at the time no one has them. They just had the fx4 part numbers not the tremor ones.

These part numbers are for the 2 front axles. The rear ones are different as well.

Front axles for Tremor
PZ6Z-3B436-A
PZ6Z-3B437-A

Front axles for AWD and FX4
NZ6Z-3B437-A
NZ6Z-4K138-A

Front axles for FWD
NZ6Z-3B436-A
NZ6Z-3B437-A

The FWD and AWD have the same part number for the left axle.
All Tremor axles are unique to the Tremor.
That NZ6Z-4K138-A you posted is a rear axle p/n, not a front. Please amend your post with right p/n's.

Have you considered looking into a bent wheel or an alignment first?

Yep, I had my tires re-balanced and an aligment done, and they were fine, at a good shop as well.

When you accelerate fast when the truck is loaded with some weight or when i accelerate up hill the truck shakes and rumbles and translates through the steering wheel. If I accelerate slow its not profound, its a pretty common symptom for everyone with CV axle issues. And yes I am starting to get that pop as well, its for sure the axle.

The front left axle has a female spline on the inner shaft and my guess there is an engineering issue with this.
I see. Well, I doubt Ford is going to re-engineer this and come out with an improved part. Wonder what that means for us long term?

I think we pray that an Aftermarket Axle comes out that will atleast get us 50k miles with no issues. I can replace my axles in a couple hours and they are only about 250$ for a pair, so its not a huge issue for me. But people that are going to be paying 1000$+ to get them replaced every couple of years, thats a huge cost.

The rear ones are also more expensive. The only thing I can tell from everyone's posts are the front ones are the ones failing. Haven't heard of a rear set failing yet.
Rear CV axles in most vehicles don't fail often. The front must survive an extreme angle when the front tires are turned to go around a corner. This extreme angle makes the front ones wear out faster.

I have seen a car with about 300,000 miles and the rear CV axles were original with original boots too. From my experience front ones usually don't make it to half that.

PZ6Z-4K139-A

Rear axles AWD & FX4
NZ6Z-4K138-A

The hybrid has its own part numbers.

NZ6Z-3B436-F
NZ6Z-3B437-B

Bronco sport has part numbers unique to it and are not shared with the Maverick.

I can find only one part number for the front wheel hub.
NZ6Z-1104-A
If all Maverick types have the same hub it would make the spline count and shaft size that goes in to the hub the same for all models. There are other parts of the cv shaft to be compared but this suggests there may be some compatibility and an upgrade to a higher model part may work.
@Administrator sticky?

I would also check the inner part of cv is fully seated into trans as I have seen one not clicked in with the friction ring all the way causing a slight noisy vibration.
A wiggle doesn’t hurt on the inner joint.

What were the symptoms?
it completely sheared off and the truck rolled to a stop. no vibration, no warning, just a clunk and that was it. the break set off all the other wheel speed sensors and the AWD control module. Took Ford 3 months to figure out it was actually the CV axle and not something else. They just read the diagnostic the computer gave them and went off that. So they replaced all the speed sensors, the AWD control module twice, checked every electrical system in the truck, and then someone finally figured out the CV axle had sheared off ...

Were you doing anything crazy when it sheared off? Like hard core offroading? or just driving?

had never even had the truck off road, or hoon'd it at all ... was making a left hand turn through an intersection at roughly 20 mph

I would avoid that dealership at all costs! This should have been a 5 minute diagnosis for even a backyard mechanic with jackstands!
