Hello forum members, I’m from Mexico.

First of all, sorry about my english.

My experience with my Maverick has been bad and with Ford Mexico it has been terrible.

At the end of June of last year I purchased a Maverick 2023 Lariat AWD and received it at the end of July.

It was working well for approximately 3000 km. At the end of October I detected a knocking noise during parking maneuvers and I scheduled a quote for the dealer to review my truck.

In this diagnosis they only lubricate and check the tightness of all the steering, transmission and suspension elements as a Ford recomendation.

I receive my truck and detect the noise again so I return and with only what they perceived along the way test they diagnose the peanuts or stabilizer screws.

As the parts arrived, the noise worsened and vibrations increased in the cabin, so I decided to check without disassembling if any component was loose or had abnormal play and I detected an abnormal axial movement in the CV axle

I record a video and send it to the distributor and they tell me that it is normal that we should wait for the spare parts that they already requested.

At the beginning of December, enter again to exchange peanuts and they deliver them to me.

After 2 days I hear again the noise so I take it and made a report at customer service. 15 days later they closed the report arguing that it was a design failure and the tests they had carried out had gone well.

When Ford closed the report, I went to the dealer and helped them to obtain the necessary evidence for Ford to authorize disassembling the wheel on the side where the failure was heard.

When they disassemble, they are surprised by the premature damage found and Ford request change the bearing, wheel mass, bearing housing, CV axle, among other things.

They tested my truck for 3 days and then with me. I could’nt heard the knock but slight vibrations could still be perceived in the dashboard. I accepted the truck since the vibrations were minimal and the failure could no longer be heard.

After 3 days I heard again a similar knock, but now in the central part of the front drivetrain.

I put again a new report, and then after 10 days Ford Mexico closed my report now saying that my truck its practically repared.

I have had this problem for 4 months now without a good solution and without my truck. I have already tried to return or exchange the unit with the dand no agreement was reached.

Now I am waiting for my first conciliation hearing at PROFECO.

It’s very frustating situation.

I atached the video of the axial movement in the cv axle, and the images. aditional 2 videos about a test that I made for test if the dashboard vibration its the same of the engine to know if the mounts are ok

I hope this info help someone in a similar situation to solve.

Oof. This one hurts.

It sounds like a sewing machine (louder than usual) with way too much play in the CV's too. Hopefully they get it fixed but that engine noise makes me think of Lemons.

Really? I think my engine also sounds like that 🤔

I really want a Maverick but haven't owned a Ford since an old Torino GT I had in my early 20's. Coming from a string of Japanese and 1 German car Fords quality ( or lack thereof) is the one thing that has me hesitating.
P.S. your English is a lot better than my Spanish

It looks like your drivers side axle was too long ( defective ) , that was the grinding noise. Have they installed a new one ?
Was it seated into trans properly on inboard side?
And is the truck free of alignment and left hand side crossmember/a arm mount issues , especially rear an arm mount hole .
very weak plate there , gets ovaled inwards and torn easy from say a curb hit. Causing an arm to lean inwards toward center of car . Also check all cross member bolting areas and trans and motor mounts ( no shift to the drivers side .)
No reason this would have done that damage unless defective axle , axle was never fully seated in trans , issue with all3 engine ,trans mounts or truck had a hard hit on drivers side .
Good luck , keep calling ford corporate!

Thank you. I do not know what else to do. First time buying Ford and the experience I had was really very bad.

Surely it is a support problem but they deny everything I have told them.

I don't know if there really is a problem with something that they already know and are afraid to tell the truth. The dealer said me that Ford Mexico denies all the cases exposed in this forum and tells me that my problem is isolated

I had better experiences with KIA, Volkswagen and Hyundai. This time I was searching a comfortable and sport pickup because I ocasionally drive in highway and I need the versatility of a pickup.

I choosed Ford Maverick because Ford its a good prestige brand in pickups in Mexico but I never thinked that the warranty experience was so bad. I'm very disappointed

I have tried everything, even contacting Ford USA, trying to put pressure on Ford Mexico, and they answered that they couldn't help me because they only solve and attend problems in the USA.

It seems that they are different companies that only have the same name or that's what they make it seem, and they don't want to get involved in the vehicles issues of Ford Mexico

I have a VW golf and I have had really no problems with it other than a sunroof gasket recall. I don't have a lot of miles on it but it is 8 years old. I always hear about how much trouble they are but it hasn't been my experience. I was planning on doing some maintenance on it given it off the once over and giving it to my son and buying myself a Maverick but I get a little hesitant when I read the amount of problems and recalls it has had

Sorry to hear that , I thought Mexico would rare of it better , I mean , it’s made there .
It’s weird ford USA wouldn’t help you as the money technically comes here?
I don’t know the dealer logistics rules and such between the countries , but your dealer down there should take it back in trade after “they said it’s fixed” and give you a chance to purchase an f150 or another option ? Is there no lemon laws in Mexico?
I also heard the maverick is more expensive in Mexico ? Seems ironic.
Keep complaining , if it’s legit on here , Ford moderates and owns this site , they should chime in and contact you if it’s legit.

Don’t sweat it man. Really not much difference in quality anymore. My sister in law refused to buy American her last car. She bought a Honda. When I asked why she said it will last forever. Well they only commute with said car and nothing crazy as far as driving. Well at 80k it needed an engine rebuild. Rings and pistons were wore out. They had every service done at Honda and on time. When they complained I said what I thought they didn’t break?
Same with my wife’s friend. She had one very minor issue with her fusion. So the bought a Honda. Well they have had major issues. What concerns me is the fact they have had more issues with that but when hearing them talk they still spew garbage about Honda reliability. Unless I say something you would think they have never had an issue.

I honestly think that they just have an unrealistic following. Like Toyota tacos. You hear how reliable they are but everyone of my friends has had issues. Not little stuff like transmission and engine.

I think they all can and do have issues it’s just how easy people crap on domestic from a time when they were not very good.
I’ve had many Fords and mostly ecoboost. Never had one not roll 300k with no serious issues.
