It will be tragic on here after June 2nd - or the 5th.
Weeping and gnashing of teeth.
But it will be a slow process of people realizing they have been cancelled. Like everything Ford there will be no clear communication of this.
I don"t think anyone is going to get a "You're cancelled" email.
Like all Ford things, it will just happen.

In speaking to my dealer yesterday he told me when he got the memo he immediately double checked the remaining 12 Mavericks he has on order to re-confirm what he already knew that all 12 orders were good to go. He said he thought of me right off when he saw that memo and knew I would be calling him. Hahahahaha.

Moral of the story no COVP, no truck. Stay on the dealer. The rules have changed in an effort to thin the herd and help Ford finish all orders.

Think about that though for a minute. In a production meeting, some exec raises his hand and says he or her has a solution to their problem of not being able to meet production. Let's bring back COVP, eliminate those that missed the boat and we get to build less trucks, make less money and call it a day. On top of that, if there is any blow back just blame the dealers and call it a day again. Everybody patted him or her on the back, kudos all around, now in line for a promotion and lets do lunch.:ROFLMAO::sneaky:
I have often tried to imagine those Ford meetings.
What's going thru their minds when they talked about not putting cruise control on the first year XL model, or requiring the copilot 360 system to get a rear sliding window, or offering crazy low priced options like the trailer hitch for $100 knowing they can't sourse them.
My images always disolve to people rolling around the floor with papers thrown everywhere screaming
for their moms.
The person in your scenario has a corner office on the top floor now.

How did you come to learn that your order was un-scheduled?
On the Ford.com website, there is an "order tracking" screen. If you enter your order number (the order number assigned by your dealer to your order) and the VIN that Ford issued to you (via the "you are scheduled" email), and pass the "I'm not a robot" test, there is a screen that shows the status of your order.

I have two orders, and I received the "congratulations, you are scheduled" letter for both - a couple of weeks apart. The first one (scheduled for June 5th) still shows scheduled. The other one (scheduled for July 17) no longer shows scheduled at all - it just shows "Order Confirmed".

My dealer said I don't need the covp because he filled out an actual purchase contract? Which is correct? Thx
I personaly don't care what your told you, "YOU" will not get this truck without the C O V P approval period. this has nothing to do with your so called puching contract, with out the C O V P approval you don't get your truck so you can wipe your "A" on that so called contract!

Because the customer ordered the truck from a dealer and not Ford. It is the dealers responsibility to ensure the customer is protected. Ford wants to get rid of dead orders before order banks open so they know how many real orders are left to build.

Ok - I think this might be just a tracker issue. If you check with Ford support, they can probably confirm that your order is indeed still scheduled but the date is just no longer showing on the tracker.

Many of those dumb decisions are the result of the marketing team applying old style thinking to create artificial differentiation between trims to incentivize you to move up the $$$ chain.

It actually cost MORE to take cruise off the XL since they had to make a special switch part with the button removed (the cruise function is generic software built into the engine controller).

There was never a sourcing issue for the trailer hitch, just a decision to limit the availability on non-Lux models as an incentive to move up to the $$ Lux trim to ensure you get a hitch.

Then there are the blatant rip-offs, like BAP which consists of the same parts just shot in a different color for a huge markup.

Those “meetings” consist of constant tension between the engineers trying to standardize vehicle design for cost savings and the marketeers trying to create artificial differentiation for upselling.

the purchase contract if for the dealer only and should not technically be done until its on the lot and you are going through the deal. you will need COVP, I would ask your dealer to please do it just incase.

Try watching the TV comedy “American Auto”. The meetings are hilarious!

Thank you Sarah,i watch you every tuesday night ya'll are very informed. Now to my understanding if you change your "TRIM" it will not effect your C O V P approval, But if you change you engine and or your body code you will have to get a new C O V P approval is this correct thanks. That is Correct, the only thing you need to worry about when it comes to needing to Re-COVP is the Engine and Body code. trim, color or add-ons do not effect COVP
