So I think we are referring to two different scenarios here. One scenario direct wired from phone to car and then the other using a wireless adapter. Are some of you saying that even with your phone plugged in you are having issues?

I had meant to specifically discuss a wired connection to rule out any potential bluetooth issues... but I suppose it is also useful to know that they are happening across the board.

Apparently, OP was referring to a wired connection, based on this from their original post:
  • "Won't connect at all, requires unplugging and plugging it back in"

Yep I need to learn to read things a little closer. That said I was hoping if I had to I could go to wired and have a more reliable experience, it appears that’s not likely.

Based on this post it seems to be the "Standard touchscreen". I have an XLT.
There is no optional screen in the Maverick, the only difference is if you get Lux Package or Larait which will have Sync 3 they even get the same screen as you and I.

After a new iOS update, seems carplay displays song info a little differently.
By that I mean look at the tint in the following shots. Look at the constant ScanGauge in the back for constant white/black balance.

I don't recall the tint OF THE ENTIRE SCREEN changing before. Just interesting.

The green was/is very noticeable now. I would have noticed before. It didn't do this before. The cover art was the same. But the background was always black or dark grey or something.

Really annoying when you get a "white" one at night. The brightness is way too much. Especially on random.

Also I used to be able to pick "image size" as in small, medium, large, original when posting here. That menu is gone or move. It just posted these automatically. I didn't pick the size.

Has anyone else experienced any Carplay issues and general software using an iPhone (11 pro, iOS v17.1.2) over usbc? I am having a really frustrating time. I would say at least one of the issues listed below occurs about ~20% of the time I try to use my phone. The most common issue is the first where the phone doesn't connect at all.
  • Won't connect at all, requires unplugging and plugging it back in
  • No audio on calls
    • Usually audio is working in other apps such as Spotify or radio
  • No audio from Spotify
    • Shows music is playing, yet there is no audio
  • Blank map with Google Maps
    • User location icon is shown but the map is completely blank
  • Entire OS Crashing
    • only way this is resolved is waiting for it to reboot (ford logo appears and takes like 20 seconds to boot back up)t
Yes, I have been dealing with this in my 22 XLT since I picked it up . Told dealer at first oil change… guess what, they told me all working fine. Still happens even after updates.

What aa adapter? Where did you get it and is working as expected?
Amazon has a bunch of different ones at all prices. Basically, it uses bluetooth to connect your phone to CarPlay. One less cable cluttering the console area. Mine works well 98% of the time.

Don’t have most of those issues. Just the first call I make everyday has no audio so I have to hang up and call back. Seems to only happen when using wired CarPlay with either usb or usb c. Doesn’t happen with wireless CarPlay adapter but my wired connection sounds better. Also doesn’t seem to happen if I use Siri to make the call. No ford updates available and iPhone 13

I use a cable for Apple car play if I need directions. I use the cable to charge my phone and like it being hands free if I need to have my phone on for my wife to call. I use a USB thumb drive for my music or use the radio. It has been very reliable with my Apple 14 phone and really consistent and trouble free with my limited usage. I do remember getting a new cable before using it in the truck 2 years ago because some posts said not all cables were equal quality.
