Well.......it's too crowded, too liberal, gas prices are too high, I won't wear a mask, I won't get the vax, I can go on and on. LMAO. I got a volunteer, coming in next week.

Our newest release is done!!

Introducing the Buschur Front Mount Intercooler for the Maverick 2.0 Ecoboost.

The stock FMIC is a piece of undersized garbage. Some of the highest increases in intake air temps I've seen on any production vehicle.

This is the solution for that. This intercooler is 240% larger than stock and is rated for 550 horsepower. We've CNC machined inlets/outlets so the factory plumbing can be re-used. Bolts in to existing holes so no drilling of any steel is needed.

There is quite a bit of trimming required of the plastic shielding that goes around the radiator and condenser. You can not fit anything larger in the truck without serious modifications or deletion of other factory components, like the air conditioning.

I will add to this thread with dyno and street data as we collect it.

The intercooler cores and tanks are in stock and they are CNC'ing the remainder of our order for the inlets/outlets. So these are available for order and will ship quickly. $899.

We are looking for someone who'd like one installed so we can do instructions from start to finish. Anyone interested in an intercooler with a free install you can reply below or message me.

***ADDED DATA!!!
-Doing some street testing/logging/tuning. Results are amazing.

-Full throttle 1/4 mile run, Run #1, starting Manifold Charge Air temp was 67F, dropping to 62 during the run and at the end of the 1/4 mile at 94 mph was 77 F.

-Full throttle 1/4 mile run, Run #2, starting Manifold Charge Air temp was 80F, dropping to 76 during the run and at the end of the 1/4 mile at 93 mph was 77 F.

***MORE DATA FROM PRIOR TO THE INTERCOOLER BEING ADDED!!

-On the dyno with a large fan directly on the intercooler, stock intercooler, the starting intake manifold air temps were 96 degrees and ends at 148 degrees! This was at the trucks stock boost pressure of only 16.5 psi. The higher that gets the higher the temps will climb. That is a 52 degree rise just running the truck on the dyno 1-4th gear.

Thanks for the update and pics. Please send picture of the underside of the intercooler…I am interested to see how the plastic still protects the engine compartment. Cost?

Is that installed correctly? It doesn't look like it's making good use of the opening? Seems only about 3" X 24" is exposed and getting direct airflow via the bumper opening. Also, the factory intercooler has a nice duct to guide air to the intercooler. Without that duct, wouldn't a good portion of air go right around the intercooler? Seems if it were up 2 inches higher and had some side deflectors that tapered in from the opening, it would better utilize the opening in the bumper?

Wasn't any room to go higher would hit ac rad it is substantially deeper intercooler than the stock one at least double the thickness. Old one was thin enough to sit higher in front of ac rad new one takes advantage of as much depth as possible in front and behind

Paint also ruins the efficiency, anodizing can be done, nothing we will offer. A lot of people don't care about the warranty, modify vehicles is a great hobby, we already have orders for exhausts and intercoolers, which is awesome.
I'm sure over the years you have tested various painted/coated intercoolers. Just curious what kind of efficiency loss did you see, or what does that translate to loss on the DYNO?

Right, but if a third of it isn't getting flow... Hope you got it for sale, maybe a third off at least.

The boys and girls across the pond toying with their Mk4 Focuses appear to have figured out how to do it right and fully utilize the space. But they finished it in black so I bet it doesn't work at all.

There's only about a 1/2in on bottom hidden from bumper otherwise all visible and more than overkill for this motor even with a bigger turbo
And it's a nice quality part from a small local company which was another selling point for me

@Buschur I would assume that not only does this help in performance gains when upgrading/tuning but also would help prevent knock/ping on a stock truck towing near the max in hot/mountain towing?
