Sounds like you might have had a piece of gravel get stuck in between a brake rotor and brake pad. Had that happen one time on a Ford Taurus. Makes a heck of a noise. I got out and had wife pull forward while I tried to figure out what was going on. When I had her reverse out came a piece of gravel and no more noise.![]()
they're looking good, boat and truck..
thunderstorms all day, driving in the previous night the dirt road was a mud road, took it easy.

eye of the needle rapid, no maverick in picture but I wouldn't be here without it ;-)
On the way home there was a squeak in the L front wheel region. Peered around but couldn't see anything, drove home without incident. Backing out of the garage next day there was an awful metal scraping noise in reverse, the squeak in forward still there. I didn't drive it for a while, had a dealer appt to look at it this week. I pulled it out once to go and wash the truck, it went Scrape, Scrape, BANG ! and the noises stopped. There, fixed it.
Ha. I guess something got stuck somewhere, in the course of a hundred miles or so of bad dirt road. Seems odd though, still going to have the dealer take a look.
Recently also did the first backpacking trip out of the truck, went well. Hunting in the fall, we'll see..
