I bought a small camper for the Maverick -- 2023 Outbound Extreme XT

Picked it up yesterday. Truck pulled it great. Never slowed down on a hill, and plenty of power to pass. Fuel economy not great, but it was very cold (15-25 degrees) And winter blend E10 gas. Best I saw was 21.6 mpg at 70. I will build a wedge for the bed to help airflow before our first trip in the spring. The mpg goes way up if you can keep it 55, but I can't.

Blue stripe is a nice look with the blue truck.

Remember my 50% rule when towing.
Tow "whatever" at "whatever" speed on "whatever" grade keeps the power needle 50% or less sustained and nothing will over-heat.

Use that "top" half of the power gauge sparingly and you should be fine.

Will do, and already did. 75MPH is the practical limit with this trailer to keep under 50% even on the hills. This trailer seems to require about 10% more on the power gauge than solo driving. I do feel that blue stripes does help tie it in to the truck.

I got the trailer lowered 6" today. Now hopefully I can get it in my Garage at home. It was 96" to the roof. Now 90" to the roof, plus the fan. Just waiting on a drop hitch.

It was $40 for the flip kit, $100 for the two new tires (I had the new wheels leftover from a previous project), and $250 labor including TIG welding. So $390 total, and I should recoup $200 for the tires and wheels that came off.

On Edit: I was able to fit it in the garage. The Fantastic fan sticks up about 5" which makes it super tight at top. Going to try a flat top lid to lower the total height from 95" to 92"-93". Then it will slip in and out without worry.

Just traded the Sport in for a Mav with a 4K tow package for towing this guy in the Spring.

The Sport got 18 mpg towing. I'm hoping for 16 mpg with the Maverick.

I've got a '24 Maverick XLT with FX4 and 4K packages and have been looking at the t@b 320s. I'd be most interested in learning your experience with both the Maverick and Bronco Sport. The 320 looks like a good fit, but nothing beats experience.

The Sport had little trouble pulling the 320 for two years. I expect the Maverick will hardly know it's back there.

I've been watching this simple unit for a while. It's a 2023 Outbound Extreme XT. Only bad thing is it is pretty tall at 93", but I will be able to stand in it. EW is about 1100#. This will fit in my Garage at home. Wide enough for a queen Mattress, and it has 2 58"x24" bunk beds up front. List price with options was $13,170. You don't get much camper at any price any more. This will work for our road trips.

Above was the original asking price. I like that the optional wrap will somewhat match my Atlas Blue Hybrid. Above you can see the bunks, it also has the Electric package, with Air conditioner and storage cubby above. Bunks will most likely be used for storage too, unless a grandchild comes with.

Paying $5495, plus $100 doc fee. Nothing else really compares for the money. Should tow pretty easy at 65mph.

I like that full size door on the back. That will make it a lot easier than crawling through the normal hatch door.

Started adding a few little things. Hanging hooks by the back door.

And setting it up to haul our bikes for trips when we want to ride. This will take minimal space, and not interfere with the bed.
