I just bought 26 Hybrid XL. Every report I have seen says this is standard. There are no physical or screen buttons to set. Was it removed from the 26?

Ai found it? I have a 24'

It’s like Ford is playing a game of "Hide the Feature" with the 2026 models. Since they refreshed the dash and the screens for '25 and '26, they moved a lot of stuff that used to be a physical button into the "digital graveyard" inside the Sync screen.
Where to find it on a '26 Hybrid XL:
Because you don't have the physical button near the shifter anymore, you have to dig into the menus:
  1. On your main center touchscreen, go to Settings.
  2. Look for Vehicle Settings or Driver Assistance.
  3. Scroll down—it should be a toggle switch in there labeled Auto Hold.
The "Why" behind the confusion:
On the 2022-2024 models, there was a physical button with a hand icon (or a circle with an 'A') right behind the shifter. For the 2026, Ford moved it to the screen to "clean up" the center console.

Damn, I thought that button was for the pop up waving hand. 🤣

Or for that yellow plastic hand on a stick that is on all of those YouTube car crash videos that taps on the screen showing where to look at or who is at fault. 👋

On the 2025+ vehicles with 4k towing it's on the left by the trailer assist knob thingy...
with 4k tow.webp
Not unless you have the trailer assist feature as you show. Glen Baker in post #5 shows the location I have - 25MY Lariet Hybrid, 4K tow package, but No trailer assist. Auto Hold button can obviously be located several different locations. Maybe they move "Auto Hold" depending on paint color 🤔.

I didn't know you could have a 25 Lariat with 4k towing without trailer assist. Thought that was wrapped into the 4k package.

Good day

Yep, its a fact that job 1 early 2025 Maverick's (like mine) do not have the trailer assist.

I am not sure when they started installing them in 2025's...maybe in April?

Trailer assist can be a big help, especially for infrequent backer-uppers.

I just wish people would practice backing up their boat, travel trailer, cargo trailer, what ever they have before having to do it for real.

I never use it. I like being able to lift my foot off the brake and have the truck start rolling. Almost 30 years of muscle memory on that one. Wife loves it, however.

I had it on my 2016 F150, I tried it but preferred backing the old school RV way..."back up till it makes an expensive sound way, way back there"!

😉

That's a joke right there...and "this is NOT the way" to back safely or cheaply!
