For Petes sake, 71 isn't old. When I turned 75 a few years ago I said I was three-forths. Now turning 80 in November I recall 75 being young. Enjoying a slow drive in our 25MY hybrid is a pleasure. I'll stay in right lane, you speeders can pass in left lane, we're all happy. Yea! Just be safe...
Yes, the Honda Insight was capable of incredible mileage. Never owned one myself. Good perspective on time to achieve high speed. So what, who cares when you choose a hypermilers vehicle. You don't typically buy Honda Prius, Insight, or Mav Hybrid for speed.
Indeed it's working as planned. My remarks in this forum are meant to employ my real wish which is to simply plug in a rear light bar for additional lighting, and some have real bright white backup lights to assist seeing on dark nights. But when doing so I lose lane centering, BLISS, rear...

Here it is 15 months later and nobody has solved to my knowledge. You're probably right, its likely a simple firmware change in some module to make the 25 Mav behave like the 23 Mav. But what, where?? I'd love to have lane centering, BLISS, reverse parking aids available with a trailer...
That explains it. 26MY has expanded trailer parameters that must allow things to work that are inhi item on the 2025. I just have height & width. Thanks and enjoy your ride.
Russ I'm guessing it's a 2026 vs 2025 model difference. I was so hoping to use a plug in device for additional rear illumination & full 12v battery charging w/o side affects. I'm not giving up but now have no workaround. Just the loss of Reverse backup assist lines would be a no-go for my wife...
Unfortunately I'm going to pass for now. I notice this item is frequently returned for compatibility issues, primarily hyperflash & turn signal error msgs. That's what I experienced with the other unit I tried, and I could not find a way to overcome with FORScan. I was able to stop hyperflash...
Tha k you Russ for the update, info & link. And thank you MM for reiterating that the small current draw from LED light will trigger the "Full charge".
Russ, I have 25MY Lariet 4K tow. I could not achieve the turn signal left/right cameras. I set trailer length 3', width 1'. But I don't have a height setting to change as you indicated? Maybe that's a 26MY change? Also, is your receiver light LED or a larger wattage bulb? When i plug a LED light...
I'm thinking the wired version was standard on 22-24 models, or at least an option. On the 25MY wired wasn't an option, only the battery operated stick on type, and programming by the dealer. The keypad + programming by dealer was costly. Years past Fords without the keypad could get aftermarket...
Older vehicles have no sophisticated HVAC sensors, so the dirtiest airflow over the Evaporator was permitted, even past the point of clogging the Evaporator. If your lucky, condensation draining over the Evaporator would permit continued operation.
It's the Evaporator & you don't want to pay to...
I have a 2025 Lariet. Ordered a LED 2" receiver light bar. It works as advertised, but... Tail lights are still OEM, was getting hyperflash with turn signals, and "Turn Signal Errors". Set it up as a trailer with length of 3', width of 1', which allows BLIS, but the rear backup lines are gone. I...
GPS speed vs Speedo readout is the best way ordinary citizens have to check accuracy. Just remember GPS indicated speed is only accurate on flat ground. Going up or down a hill introduces error because you're not going in a straight line across the earth. FORScan correction is the easiest way to...
I'm with you brother. Soooo hard to be quiet when wife drives like it's her Lincoln MKX. So I cringe and bite the bullet. As my buddy always says, I might be dumb, but I ain't Stupid. Lol
Always use Seatbelts but all those nagging seatbelt warnings can be turned off in FORScan. Here's how:
1- Use IPC As Built, not Easy Mode.
2- Change ALL dights to '0' in the four locations 720-13-01, 720-13-02, 720-14-01, and 720-14-02.
3- Save your changes, and Seatbelt warnings are gone...
You're doing Great hypermiling. I'm assuming you're from San Antonio based on your profile? We winter in Weslaco, our Mav getting us there & back. Hypermiling becomes a habit, a challenge, that non-hypermilers won't understand. Much like non-vets not understanding the bond with Veterans from all...
