  2. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Question: will enabling tail lights with DRL using FORscan trigger 12v battery charging to 100%, since tail lights would be enabled when using DRL? Or is the 'trigger' by switch position vs 12v current draw? We know parking lights, headlights, trailer plug, and blower fan speed reate a trigger.
  3. Ac/heat issues. 47,000 miles NO CABIN FILTER-EVER?

If the A/c Evaporator (in your Mav or home unit) gets too dirty air flow thru the fins is compromised, choking off efficient cooling. Meanwhile in vehicles, the heater core also resides where Evaporator is located, and winter heat can be reduced, bad situation. A clean cabin air filter is best...
  4. 🚨 2022-2026 Ford Maverick Wireless SecuriCode Keyless Entry Keypad Upgrade Now Available - Infotainment.com

You're exactly right Richard. I created a secondary code, something easier to remember, but the Master Code is always available if needed. I didn't look in the infotainment system, its on a piece of paper, and in my personal e-files. Yes the old ones The keypad must be programmed by a dealer...
  5. 🚨 2022-2026 Ford Maverick Wireless SecuriCode Keyless Entry Keypad Upgrade Now Available - Infotainment.com

The stick on keypad i purchased in 2008 didn't require dealer programming - it was basically another key fob. But the one for my 2025 Mav required dealer programming. I'm thinking total cost from my dealer, including programming, was $240? Expensive, but worth it to me. No OBD port connection...
  6. 🚨 2022-2026 Ford Maverick Wireless SecuriCode Keyless Entry Keypad Upgrade Now Available - Infotainment.com

I installed one on my 25Mav shortly after truck purchase. I had one just like it on my 2008 Ford Escape hybrid. Nine years later I sold the Escape and the battery keypad still worked fine with original battery, so wireless keypad battery longevity was not a worry. I use the keypad frequently...
  7. Toad charge

All the previous posts are pertinent, all relative to your question. Charge line from MH to Toad is a Must, to keep your 12v battery topped up to ensure it stays in tow mode, and power your supplemental braking system if necessary. After 6 hours towing I exit Tow mode, let sit 5 min, start for a...

And forever we thank our service men & women who made the sacrifices, some the...
  9. Unusual Hybrid AC problem

I think 'HayBales' advice in post #4 is spot on, you should follow that. Intermittent problems are the hardest to resolve. Documenting your sequence of operation will be valuable in solving.
  10. Loose splash shield flapping and dragging after oil change.

Indeed, if possible always do your own basic/simple maintenance, paying attention to detail. And, don't over tighten the 15 screws. I count to myself as I tighten each one.
  11. 6k fantastic truck

As many have noted, driving style, speed, wind conditions, fuel quality, weather, terrain, all come into play. All things equal, driving style (hypermilers) will easily win the MPG contest because of vigilat driving technique. But many locations & conditions aren't conducive to safely hypermile...
  12. Filling gas tank

I enjoy reading thru hard copy manuals but find the PDF more convenient. Anyone with a full version of Adobe Acrobat can create their own PDF hyperlinks to individual chapters or areas of particular interest. Works like hyperlinks in web pages. Putting my own revised copy on my phone and laptop...
  13. Flat-towing a 2025 or 2026 Hybrid behind an RV

Ref in my post #18, I've discovered some amount of time is required after flat towing before immediately starting & put in 'Drive'. True, Ford gives no reason, just to e it tow mode and wait before driving. Why?
  14. I'm confused (no surprise there) about EV charging

Scangauge III is an excellent product. Or get a Car Scanner Dongle and use their App. There are MANY more parameters to observe besides RPM. Also, as other posters in other forums have stated, when going down a long hill, the high RPM's dissipates HVB charge that exceeds highest allowable value...
  15. Missing features of my 26 Lariat HB

Dang it, I certainly did. Lol! We PM'd several times, & he got it working on his 26MY Lariet. Persistence pays off and FORScan can be a challenge. Nose wiggling and left earlobe tugging can make the difference 😃.
  16. Missing features of my 26 Lariat HB

Hopefully someone with a 26MY will chime in on this. With the changes made in model years, can't assume it works. I'm thinking it only works on Lariet trim?
  17. Missing features of my 26 Lariat HB

Hope it works, I use it often. Cheers. Ken
  18. Missing features of my 26 Lariat HB

Global Open - Press Unlock once-release-Press Unlock quickly a 2nd time & Hold. Takes about three seconds for windows to roll down. Global Close-Press Lock button once & hold. Keep holding, takes several seconds before windows close. I can't confirm it works on 26MY, but assume it does. Mine is...
  19. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Long term storage using a smart charger is best option if you have that option. That's what I do now with all our other vehicles, tractor, lawn tractor batteries when we head to south Texas for winter. We drive our Mav so it gets driven most days. Never thought about the idle time w/remote...
