Trailer assist can most likley be enabled with FORScan.

RE trailer assist:
1. Factory Truck Requirements
These features are not standalone add-ons and cannot be universally retrofitted to just any Maverick.
  • Model Level: These technologies are factory-equipped standards on the Lariat and Tremor trims, and included on the Lobo (702A). They are not available on XL or XLT trims. [1]

He does have a Lariat with 4k tow. Worth a try IMO, but I know not everyone is the FAFO type when it comes to these things.

Good day

Thank you for your suggestion, but I have no need for any backing assist aids. (Sorry, I dont know what the acronym FAFO means).

I have been backing trailers for years, and honed it both maneuvering manure spreaders into barns etc back on the farm as a kid, as well as decades of moving all size of aircraft in and out of hangers and tight spaces!

As a young RCAF Aircraft Technician I used to practice pushing short throw aircraft power units around on the flight line before I went to get my aircraft tow qualifications.

One of those will jack-knife on you in a second if you aren't careful...and still will even if you are careful!

Good times, right there...sorry I digressed into fond memories.

Have a great day, and use a spotter when backing in tight quarters! And maybe even not so tight ones as well.

Good day

Yep, its a fact that job 1 early 2025 Maverick's (like mine) do not have the trailer assist.

I am not sure when they started installing them in 2025's...maybe in April?

Trailer assist can be a big help, especially for infrequent backer-uppers.

I just wish people would practice backing up their boat, travel trailer, cargo trailer, what ever they have before having to do it for real.

My25MY Mav was on dealer lot by March 2025. My salesman held it for me for a month before I could return to Louisville to pick up late April 2025. So it was an early build? I've been backing trailers, travel trailers, 5th wheels, since we started RVing in 1981 so I don't miss it. Had this feature on several bigger Ford trucks and never used it once, but I can see where it could be beneficial to folks seldom backing trailers. I just assumed it was an option?

Good day

Yes, your truck was a job 1 build, same as mine if you have the optional tow pkg but no trailer assist ...mine was delivered to my dealer and we picked it up on 25 January, 2025. So, a pretty early Job 1 build.

That was nice of your salesperson, to hold it for you.

I imagine Ford needed to get their ducks in a row as to camera parts, controller parts etc, before introducing it as part of the tow pkg on the assembly line.

For those who are learning to back a trailer, I think it can really help them once they learn how to use it...it is very easy to figure out as compared to backing without the aid.

I taught my wife to back our boat when we had our F150 (not using the aid, but backing old school)...we were at the lake and a nice fellow offered to back it in for us as I was handling the boat launching.

It was a curved drive to back down, trees on both sides. His jaw dropped when my 5 ft tall wife jumped in the truck and carefully but surely backed it about 150 feet...into the water, stop at the appropriate time and then pulled out and parked our rig in the parking area.

No fuss, no muss. Just goes to show, time practicing is well spent, Which ever way you tow/back up.

Have a good one,

Andy
