i had brought this up 2 years ago. and i really don't like it . it's a truck and should be a shift if there is s way to change it i would do it in a hot second
Hate it in any vehicle, usually turn the radio or heating down rather than putting it in park.

With electronic and limited gear selection on the hybrid it doesn't make any difference how you do it. Having driven something with push buttons back in the sixties, they are not a good idea.

I do wonder why I look at the knob and not the dash to see what gear I am selecting.

I have almost tried to break off the wiper blade control a time or two.

Took a while to get used to it. I've had the un- truck, per my neighbor, about 8 months. Sometimes when I want to lay something flat on the console it's like hey no shifter in the way. I'm pretty easy going and figure I can get used to about anything.

I like it. Simple and quick. It takes a second to adjust when I jump in the f350. It is well engineered, seems durable.

Well, after hearing all the negative stuff about the rotary shifter from day one.....

Put me in the "I like it" category. Really no time to get used to it for me. You an see where it is in the dash display without even looking at it. Takes up NO extra room. Easy to get to my coffee cup. All good for me.

i would like to ask all, does anyone like the diel shift. i personally do not like it. so I am on a mission to see if there is a way to put a hand held shift like an f150. does anyone agree. thank you
Doesn't matter if we like it or not, you can't move it and Ford won't change it.

I suspected that it would be a gimmick, so I wasn’t sure that I would like it.

But I’ve grown to not dislike it.

I do miss the tactile feedback of reaching over to check which gear I’m in without having to look. Not a big deal though, just something that the dial lacks. I wish that it had a little nub or something for physical feedback.
You said it perfectly

Like it once I got used to confirming with the dash.

I’m an old school type guy myself. It was a little weird at first but now it’s kinda grown on me and I like it. Takes up lot less room than other types of shifters too which is nice.
Same here

I have not had a dial shift but I’m looking forward to it. It looks low and out of the way. Which is nice, since my dog has happily knocked my traditional shifter out of gear in my current vehicle.
OH BOY... the buttons for a dog to step on! Thankfully the parking brake is a lift-up action!

Exactly!... My little dog was often changing modes and turning on and of traction control and brake hold. I took an old credit card and bent it (warmed with a lighter) at a 90 degree angle. It fits in the weird little slot and now it covers the buttons.

Stopped almost all the accidental mode changes.

Like the dial. Start and just one click to reverse or just spin it to drive. With push to start, you just push the button to turn off and automatically goes to park. Not an issue. Now eco mode pre set is another dumb issue….

I wasn't a fan when I first got it but I don't even noticed it and it is SO easy to just flick the shifter with my finger to put it in park or drive since they are the final on both sides. So I sit down start it flick my middle finger to spin it it and take off and when it comes time to get out I flick it the other direction. Now the thing I WOULD change in regards to the gear shifting is that the truck wouldn't throw itself in park if I open my door while I'm in drive. I know the safety behind it and I understand why it is there but it is something that is a small annoyance like in the winter I have a small driveway to fit both my Maverick and my Ram 2500 Promaster (work van) so I have to basically put them so the bumper is touching and it is easier to do with me standing with my foot on the brake bumping it forwards to do.

I wasn't a fan of the dial at first-

Then I got used to it, and figured it was ok...

I drove Wifey's car yesterday, and I was definitely missing the dial.

I guess I've officially become a dial liker...
