Thanks for all the feedback. What I said was, almost as good as hybrid in terms of gas mileage. Obviously hybrid is still better if you only think about saving gas. Where I live there's a lot of snow in winter. There are a few places near where I live that has steep slopes. I always had trouble with front wheel drive car/SUV getting up those slopes, if the snow weren't plowed. With all wheel drive it's much better. I'm going to get snow tired and maybe studs on them. Let's see.

2.0 EB here, anyone getting better fuel economy with midgrade or premium gas?

On my EB AWD in a 4,500 miles trip going at 73 mph my averaged was 31.6 and driving at 94 miles per galón my average dropped to 31
I have less than 8000 miles on my truck
I wonder what kind of gas mileage I’ll get iIf I go 65

I agree, the fuel economy on the EB 2.0 AWD has really exceeded my expectations. I have an hour long commute with 2000 feet of elevation change. I am very mindful of my speed and keep it around 73-75 MPH and have been averaging 32 MPG. I use 87 octane, which in Colorado is "mid-grade".

I'm currently at 29.6. When I do the manual calculations after a couple tanks I'm sure it will be closer to 29. Plus I'm adding 245/65R17's so after that I'll be happy with anywhere around 28 but I expect 27ish.

Montana (The state - not me lol) is not kind to MPG's.

I got this new 2023 ecoboost AWD XL (base) trim. Only upgrade was the AWD package.
According to EPA, the mileage should be 23/29/25. 23 being local, 29 highway, 25 mixed.
I live in the suburbs of a moderate size city.
After a few weeks driving, according to the digital trip meter, I'm getting on average 25/32/29.
70% of my driving is highway. But I don't speed much. Usually only 5MPH above posted speed limit. That means only about 70MPH or 75MPH depending on the highway. There are many police/state trooper patrols hiding somewhere along the highway I don't want to get a ticket.
Many years ago I tried a radar detector, but still end up getting a ticket. So speeding is not an option for me.
I'm not a lead foot or racer. I'm not intentionally trying to get best mileage either. Just my usually driving habits. Almost never flooring the pedal.
I was a little upset when my hybrid order gets nowhere, not even in production after almost a year. Finally I had to settle with a 2.0 ecoboost because that's the only available maverick in my local dealer, and there are people trying to buy it.
But this gas mileage is almost as good as the hybrid. I mean 29 combined is amazing! I've never driven a car this efficient before, ever!

Kudos to Ford!
Now I just hope this car can last .
I'm averaging 33.5 mpg at the 12K point with my 2.0 EB, AWD and tow package. I do about 60% highway. I do drive in eco and try to be smooth, but also keep to within 5 MPH of speed limit. Once a week I do a 180 mile trip up and down the Allegany hills.

I sort of mix it up, filling with regular sometimes, mid-grade sometimes and premium (non-ethanol) sometimes. The only time I compared full tanks of different grades was on a long road trip through the midwest when the Maverick was brand new. I actually got lower MPG with a fill-up of premium, but who knows what the actual gasoline quality was, how much head- or tail-wind I had before or during, etc. etc.

I do know that in the last month, I made two trips from my home in the Adirondack foothills, over the Green Mts. of VT and down/over to Cape Cod and back, and showed 34.5 MPG on the dash readout for both trips. That made me smile!

I get 22/23 local driving BUT have gotten up to 38 highway not all the time, if I set the cruse at 69/2000rpm the gas miles is between 32/38. Iam not sorry I got my Eco boost, that's also with a fx4.

29 mpg is good but not “almost as good as a hybrid”

I get 52mpg combined with my hybrid.
Your 52mpg is not valid when comparing to highway mileage. Hybrids fall flat when it comes to highways.

That's about right for the 245/65R17s. The Toyos I run will net me about 27-28 mpg over two decent elevation mountain passes here in WA.

I just got back from a trip to Bodega Bay. 265 mile trip at 28.2 MPG per computer.

Not bad IMO with my Mav being fully loaded with camping gear and slow stop and go traffic last Saturday on I-80 going towards the Bay area from Sacramento.

So far, in 2800 miles, I haven't seen a tank with an AFE less than 27.5mpg in mixed driving. I reset the trip odo each refill. Hand calculating has sometimes given lower, sometimes higher than the AFE on the screen.

Highway trips are over 30mpg. I'm happy with that.
