On my 25 Lariat the button is on the switch panel, closest button to the driver.

Love it for the drive-thru. Also pretty nice when used in combo with auto start/stop. Come to a full stop and then let foot off brake, engine stops and truck sits still. Press accelerator, truck starts up and goes.
This is a good point.

Normally the engine would start on brake release for AS/S.

But since there is no brake pedal being pressed to release - it has to wait until gas pedal press.

Bob,
Which are you referring to
Hill Start Assist ?
or
Auto Brake Hold?
There is no button for Hill Start Assist, it's automatically done.

And no, sorry, no picture of non-existent button.

ETA: Got to new page - I see what you're doing there.

I despise it. It runs my blood pressure up😅. But seriously, it is aggravating. So I leave it off 99% of the time. It comes in handy about 1% of the time. At the dealership I sometimes turn it off on customer's cars when I'm pulling them into my stall. I just have to remember to turn it back on. It's buried in the menu on some vehicles.

I personally think adding creep to electric drives is dumb as dirt, but people seem to want it.
You do not add creep to a manual shift car, so why add it to electric drives? The Hybrid IS an electric drive at zero speed. However one can turn off the hill hold, just wish it was a smoother transition.

I drive three vehicles regularly that have manual transmissions. I will tell you that nowadays most drivers expect your car to move immediately when your brake lights transition from on to off when the stop light turns green. Many times tailgaters will come close to hitting you while you're in the process of moving from the brake to the accelerator because they'll come off their brakes the moment they see your brake lights go out. Nobody expects anyone to be driving a manual transmission vehicle anymore.

We have 5 pages of replies and the OP "GPP" Gil, has yet to return and reply to a basic question I asked in Post #3
'Which operational feature he was referring too.

AUTO HOLD (BRAKE)

Previous vehicles I could disable Hill Start Assist.

I'm a fan of Hill Start Assist, but not Auto Hold, for gas vehicles at least. If I'm driving an EV I don't mind the Auto Hold for one-pedal driving, but I would never want it for a Maverick.

Interesting! Around my area you measure Red to Green light reaction times with a Calendar, nothing more accurate is necessary. It drives me crazy.

I would use it cautiously. It's a pain to have it on when parking . . . you get abrupt movements when you're trying to be precise. Mostly don't use it unless I'm using a street that has multiple lights and I'm hitting every one.

LOL. Crazy. I guess both ways can be frustrating.

I would prefer both to be selectable enabled or disabled.

I call it my In and Out feature for waiting in line for a Double Double! Only time I have used it.

Love it. Use all the time. 2nd vehicle with it. If at a light, foot comes off the break and hovers over the gas pedal waiting for the light to change. Once you get used to using, you will wonder why you didn't use it til that time. Sorta like heated seat and steering wheel... Where have they been all my life. hahahaha

Agree with the guy above that said you have to turn off in an auto car wash... About the only time mine is turned off.

I can see where it might be useful, but I have a Camry that doesn't have it, and often have to drive company cars, so I don't want to get in to the habit of using it. That's also why I have largely switched to slippery, I love the aggressive deceleration of eco, but when I get in another vehicle they seem to have weak brakes. Slippery matches the"regular" cars feel, and has better mileage to boot.
I don't buy that argument fully. I switch between my Maverick, with the hill holder on) a 2010 CR-V (no hill holder) and 2006 Mazda 6i with a stick. Never have an issue with remembering which vehicle I'm in. It became part of my muscle memory very quickly.
But as has been pointed out, it stays off if it's off, so just don't use it.
