I used a very thick and heavy mat from these guys: https://www.blackarmourbedmats.com/products/ford-maverick-truck-bed-mat/.
It was not the cheapest but it was the thickest. It is tough, nothing slides around and it fit perfectly.

I know why I didn't use the fob, it was in the truck on the keys that came off my belt. However if I had thought of the fob, I would then have realized that the keys were missing. OLD Guy Moment!

Back in the day (1980's) as I recall the torque on F150 wheel lugs was 90-110 lb-ft. 150 lb-ft does seem a bit high. Those are 12mm studs, slightly less than 1/2". AI tells me my original spec was about right. 1/2" Grade 8 bolts are 90 lb-ft lubed and 120 lb-ft dry. That 150 lb-ft seems a...
Today a weird problem came up. I can not lock my truck! When I try to use the Auto Lock on the door handle, it does nothing, it will not respond.
So I open the door and press the Lock Button on the door panel, the door locks and I close the door, it Beeps Twice and Unlocks! There is no...
I was a mechanic through the 70s and 80s. There were very few injected cars of any kind, almost all were carbs. We got that muck on the back of intake valves all the time. I spent a lot of my apprenticeship cleaning that crap and the “ carbon” out of heads. No body made a big deal out of it...
The BYD PHEV rates very well in Australia. It sells there for a little less than the Ranger and meets safety regs.
I worked before retirement at UBC and one of our best PHD went back to China to work for Gilly. If he was involved with this project, which is likely, it will be well done.

Good to hear that you are OK, vehicles can be repaired. One of my best buds had an encounter in central BC with your deers bigger cousin, a Moose. He was driving at night in his Honda Prelude when the big guy came up out of the ditch, went over the hood and caved the windshield down onto the...
I agree, I have used these "OLD" repairs for decades and have never had a problem. They actually solve an issue that the standard patch on the inside does not, and that is water intrusion through the hole through the tread. Patches with a tail that is pulled through the hole to seal work the...
I used a tarp that I spread over the bed. It prevented gravel from getting between the tailgate and the hinge. It also prevented gravel from getting between the OSB and the outer box area.

I recently carried about the same amount in gravel in my Mav. I have a thick rubber mat in the bed and made a three sided OSB protection for the edge of the box. I have a charger for my PowerStation that I did not want gravel in. Worked a charm.
One thing I noticed was when I used the tow...
If the Lift is only an inch the effects should be limited. I'm not certain if the Tremor axles are a different part number or not. There seems to be a consensus on this board that they are different. Depends somewhat where the lift is installed. If it is on top of the strut, the body is...
With the current tariff structure and restrictions on rare metals, manufacturing EV's and Hybrids of all sorts is not economically possible in the US. EV's and hybrids sell like crazy up here in Canada. at least here in BC.
I was in the UK last fall and there are a lot of EV's in Europe and...
"honestly, the rear window on the Lariat is tinted so dark to begin with that the dimming is hardly noticeable."
I have found the same in my Lariat, the lights from directly behind are not much of an issue, however the lights in the side mirror are. Not sure what I can do about that?

Has anyone had trouble with the over pressure release venting the extinguisher during hot days?
I ask for two reasons, one I had an extinguisher mounted externally on the bed rack last summer and it was empty when I looked at it awhile later, possibly from heat. The second was when I was tech...
A comment on towing speeds: For Commercial Trucking the rating for tires, brakes, hitches and things is 105 KM/h or about 65 MPH. Commercial trucks that tow at speeds here in BC of over 120 KM/h (78 mph) good luck stopping on the mountain roads, many have not. Driving that speed on retreaded...
I'm glad as well up here in Canada. My only complaint is that the tail lights are not on!
If you do not have Auto then the headlights especially around town look to be on, but
but you have no tail lights! Can not count the number of times I have noticed this.

Yeah, not sure why there are so many Grey's? Up here in the NorthWest grey cars disappear for over half of the year. Grey car, grey road, grey sky! That's why we have daytime running lights here as cars are difficult to see during winter and poor weather.
Not sure Robin's Egg Blue is my...
