ACCM update not the answer in my case for Deep Sleep issue. ACCM update done May 27. Parked the truck Thursday June 12 morning. Retrieved my sunglasses Friday morning June 13th with no signs of Deep Sleep. Got back home and put my sunglasses back at 5:21 pm. Immediately went into Deep Sleep after just opening and closing the door.

Deeply frustrated !!!!

That's very disappointing!!! I personally didn't have the SSM-53801 update yet despite a handful of deep sleep notifications in 3 months. I'm glad you started this thread despite the bad news. I hope others will report if they're still having issues. Maybe include year and trim as well as the date the ssm was completed. Thanks!

nothing surprises me anymore on this issue. It's been going on since MY22 and seems to be some MY25 post with it. ford so needs to get their act together imo

I'm betting many will think they got an initial success on it (despite never having a battery drain in the 1st place - the purpose of the SSM), because the battery was on a maintainer during the upgrade, or as spelled out now, engine was running on new process.

So a merely charged up battery will improve low battery charge (that's why you get the deep sleep).

So your truck took 13 to 14 days to lose that extra charge up.
(did a long over 800 mile road trip, reported battery SOC reached the untold heights of 69% by the end of it. Was 64% by next morning after BMS relearn - I was hopeful. 2nd morning, today, was 53%)

It disables the modem for deep sleep mode after it goes below a certain point.
That can happen literally any time of course.
You opened the door twice, light was on for a period of time - you caused the battery to go below the warning point. Got the notice because modem was disabled.
Lights probably not on as long either.

Did they replace your battery during the SSM? Is your current battery the original? Could it be the battery was already damaged to a point where it would lose it's charge rather quickly?

Actually your truck is functioning as it should. After 10-14 days, it should go into Deep Sleep to save on battery power so you can start your truck after it has been sitting for 10-14 days. I would not call the update as a failure yet, IMHO.

I think you misread the op. The truck went into deep sleep after sitting for less then a couple days.

IME of testing, having the modem/Ford Pass access running as well as leaving it unlocked had little to do with long term battery drain needed to trigger deep sleep.

I think it has more to do with lack of full charging and some sort of heavy draw/too much activity after shutdown or when opening the door after sitting.

Rediculous that after a 800 mile trip the battery was not at 100% state of charge.

Me - 2024 Lariat FWD hybrid 12k miles: Based on the experiences reported here, I cancelled my appointment to address deep sleep until there are more consistent success stories.

The glass half full part is my Mav always starts so a few lights that don't shine when they should isn't a deal breaker.

Meanwhile, I love my mpg here in the land of $5+ gallon gas.

How are you qualifying for SSM 53801?

I just had service done at the dealership & they said nothing required. ‘24 lariat hybrid. And I did mention to the service writer I was having deep sleep.

Me too. For a couple days I had interior lights but then it went back to no interior lights unless I drove quite a bit.

Just putting a $135 AGM battery in there seems to fix 90% of this issue. Reports are you might still have a very occasional deep sleep. That's probably fine for most owners.

In addition: I also changed SOC setting in Forscan from 80 to 100%.

My Hybrid hasn't reported deep sleep in over a year.

Cheers!

Re: Qualify for the SSM? = Special service message is similar to a Technical service bulletin. I just called & told my selling dealer I experienced deep sleep, referenced the SSM and they made an appointment. Note that I canceled it b/c of posts saying in so many words it was hit or miss. But my dealer made an appointment, no questions asked.

Intermittent battery drain. So truck won't start next morning.
Parasitic draw.
Ford is stopping techs from taking the lengthy troubleshooting process to find it, and from research has found what they assume is the most likely source. (threads on MTC have shown there are others)

Expected normal draw <50 mA is not a problem.
Low rate of charging and low state of battery charge obviously not considered a problem, as it's there on 25's also as reports come in.

Eventually having a dead battery is a problem if under warranty - but those were getting swapped out already.

What this upgrade will likely do is remove 1 source of a fast drain killing a battery (can't do that too many times), causing a warranty replacement.
And it will push those trucks with that potential back in to the normal group of slow death batteries - perhaps making it past the warranty period now.
Because I haven't heard of any getting this SSM and a replacement battery, unless it just happened to have gotten so bad finally.

Double whammy - less tech time for warranty work, less batteries dead under warranty.

The other way to get it applied - pressure dealership and have a friendly one, have other work done also, have them verify how fast lights turn off after door closed compared to newer one on lot, thorough test with load on battery that might show up SOC is so low they replace under warranty.
