First, I have searched and looked at other threads on this topic.

Second, well, unfortunately I've had my first run of technical issues 5 months into ownership and was looking for advice from others who have maybe had the same issue. I got home after about 11 days of the truck sitting in the driveway. I hopped in and turned the key and...nothing. No cranking, no display, nothing. Thinking it was a simple power drain I got out my NOCO and...nothing. The accessories do odd things when the charger is connected, i.e., all the lights work, the windows go up/down, the ABS lights appear to go on and off but no display. Now, however, the radio now doesn't even turn on.

My Ford App, yesterday, did not say the truck was in Deep Sleep, but it did start showing today that it was in Deep Sleep and to start the truck manually...funny joke.

Help? Ideas? Thoughts?

@Gpp Thanks, will give it a shot. I disconnected the battery yesterday but only for about 2 minutes. The battery acts like it's fully 'dead,' i.e., doors don't lock/unlock with fob, interior lights don't come on at all when the door is open, etc. When I hook up a battery box, the battery read ~7V and then around 12 when the box is turned on, so it should jump??

Just asking but thought the deep sleep only affected the Hybrid?

@Donald That's what I initially thought as well but it appears it is a 'feature' on the EcoBoost. It also clearly says it is in deep sleep on my FordPass App as well.

That sounds like a dead cell in the OEM battery. When you disconnect both battery cables check the battery voltage at that point with a meter....

I have an eco boost Lariat and it goes in deep sleep if I don’t use it for about a week and a half. I never have trouble starting it but I have a start button rather than a key but that shouldn’t make any difference. It always opens when I grab the handle but not the first time.

We dealt with the dreaded Deep Sleep issue for months with our Maverick hybrid, pretty much having to use the battery pack every day. They replaced the OEM battery under the back seat the first time and it didn't solve the issue. Eventually took it back a second time and after playing with it for a couple of weeks, Ford engineers told the dealership to replace the battery again. Haven't had the issue for about three months now. I believe Ford was shipped a large batch of defective batteries and we finally got one that was correct.

Thanks all for the input so far - it is what makes this Forum awesome! Yeah...sounds like a defective OEM battery and/or wiring harness issue. Either way since it's under warranty am having them tow it and take care of it at the dealer. I'll keep everyone posted!

For those interested...the supposed problem was a faulty Gateway Module. The dealer replaced that and the battery and I plan to pick it up on Monday.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread @AMCfoxbody as my truck is at the dealer now and tech diagnosed the gateway module at fault as well. Let me know if it indeed fixed your issue

Knock on wood...I have not had any issues since the module was replaced. Good luck!
