Will look at it at first opportunity. Not instantly recalling anything related to "automatic defrost" but will check. Disclaimer: I'm not the author, nor do I take credit, for Forscan programming. I'm just a semi-tech guy using the product. Firmware mods for the Mav are slowly coming, but older Fords have MANY worthwhile mods.
May be something referred to humidity.

Perhaps, but doubt our Mavs have a humidistat to register relative humidity. But perhaps it receives dew point readings, relative humidity, and ambient temperature via the modem when turned off? Beats me. These trucks are real smart.

The mystery "button" in the overhead console is a temperature/humidity sensor.

Interesting, never knew, but only had my truck 2 months. I'll look for the mystery button tomorrow. That could explain the ECU turning on defrost? Thanks.

Yes I love it too. I traded a chev Colorado for my Mav and night and day difference in air. I have been too cold in mine 😂 if that’s a thing.
Couldn't agree more. I also had a Colorado (caught fire while in my driveway, and bought the 22 Maverick as a replacement). Much happier with the Maverick's A/C unit. Seven speeds and it cranks the cold quickly and forcefully. Much better than so-called luxury vehicles. Did not expect that from a compact less expensive vehicle.

Yes my 24 Lariat Hybrid gets ice cold. I sometimes find myself shivering. Might be one of the best working A/C units I have ever had in a vehicle.
This is true. And the great thing is that it barely impacts the mpg’s 🙂. Now the heater is another story.

The auto button on the AC control is to turn on and off the settings which HAVE BEEN SELECTED BY DRIVER the truck has its own settings which it can independently turn on and off and can override the drivers preference. The dew point control will have low speed fan in the foot area and can open/close recirculation or turn on AC to remove humidity. I wonder sometimes when someone complains about fan starts blowing cold air if it's caused by his fan/temp settings when truck activates AC to lower humidity. Maybe programmer messed up and did not close the "blow on occupant flap"? Who knows?

I have just under 1000 miles on my 2024 EB. One thing I'm impressed with is the A/C. Getting in the cab on a hot sunny day, and the cab cools off almost instantly. Our RAV4 is a great car, but seems to take a few miles before the car's inside cools off.
Is everyone else's experience similar?
So far, I really like the Maverick :inlove:
Most Fords have excellent air with very fast cool down. The beltless electric A/C on the Hybrids, even faster. And the smaller cab of a truck makes cool down even quicker.
My last F-150 had killer air, too. It would run you out of there in no time. That AC system never needed service in over 22 years of ownership.

I think there is one of the 3 phase orange cables go to the AC compressor on the hybrid.

I think I may have jinxed it -- my A/C went out this morning. Scheduled with Ford next Tuesday.

Got my Maverick back from Ford service to fix the A/C -- failure was not a Ford failure -- had a stray (cute) kitten coming around the past few days, and evidently he was sleeping in the engine compartment. When I started down our driveway, he got caught up in the A/C compressor belt and snapped it. $269.00 to replace the belt. Kitten was not replaceable. . .
