I am aware of that. Take away every part of the truck and it wont cost anything... but there also is no truck. If they were that worried about cost, make everything an option. you want the fx4 wheel...add on 1k. you want wireless charging, add on 500... you want the cheapest XL you can?....you dont add any extras onto it. why didnt they completely remove the rear window but moved it to an option?... I would assume Ford doesnt "sell" the addon for less than they paid for it...in which for everyone they "sell" gain more money from it... But then adding a tire inflator....raises cost. is there that much of an issue with Hybrids having flat tires they need inflators standard?
Making everything an option complicates production and adds cost. That's why they want to group everything into common packages. This is classic decontenting, in the same vein as discontinuing the standard keyless entry, sliding rear window, and Wi-Fi hotspot.
I suspect the US requires manufacturers to provide some kind of method of repairing/replacing a flat tire as standard equipment.

Where do you keep it, in the passenger seat? 😄
I washed one of those once, noticed I could wash both the windshield and the back window without moving my feet 😂
Secured behind the seats of course. Why would I store it in the passenger seat??🤷‍♂️
I never had a problem stowing the spare behind the seats there's a net and d-ring tie downs to facilitate the storage of the spare.
Folks would stop me and ask me so many questions about it I made a booklet about the car. That I carry in the car. Most don't realize smart was produced by Daimler Benz.

I never had a problem with room.
This is the room that's contained in the back between the front seats and the rear hatch with the seats in my driving position which is all the way back. The hardtop version has more room. Useless to me if it's not a convertible. And it has paddle shifters.

Is it still standard or is it a $$ pay $$ option?
From my earlier quote:
Note: Conventional Spare Tire (51D) can be added as Free Standing Option.
● Changed — Spare Tire (Mini) (155/70 R17) standard on Hybrid FWD only (100A / 300A)
Note: Conventional Spare Tire (215/70 R17) standard on Tremor, included with 4K Tow package and FX4 OffRoad package. Free Standing Option (51D) as replacement for standard Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit
I don't believe "free standing options" are no-charge options. They are options that can be ordered individually, for whatever the option price is.

You get a sidewall puncture or damage those fix A flat crap kits aren't going to work. A real spare tire is the only thing that's going to get you safety back on the road.
On the Smart car once you use the Fix-A-Flat with the inflator the inflator is no longer any good.
I had those kits on both Chevy Volt's and on my Smart car. Chevy never made a spare tire for the Volt that you could buy optional.
I found out the Chevy Volt took a Cadillac donut size tire. I found one at the junkyard and carried it as a spare. Here's the spare tire for my smart car.

Interesting! Did not know those had only 3 lugs. Here is a pic of a guy I saw at RV park, loading up his Smart Car into his toy hauler! Don't how he got out of the car once loaded.

Three lugs is plenty adequate for the 1L 70 skinny horses.😆😆
The only time I drive it is with the top down, unless it gets too hot and I put the top up and turn on the air it's easy for me to get in and out of.

but it still costs them money on parts they might not sell cuz you know tariffs. so why give an option that will end up costing them money to give at this time?

I get the de-contenting around the fringes to try to keep the price down, and it's great to see no price increase for the XL and XLT, but the spare tire delete on the AWD is kinda puzzling. I wonder if they delete the entire hoist system and you're stuck not being able to add one at all unless you can add those parts back DIY.

I feel there is a good amount of odd things Ford did here. Adding a tire inflator with sealant and ecoboost FWD...sounds good...removing cupholders/armrest on xlt and removing the black Ford badging on BAP/Tremor/Lobo...odd. Along with removing unique FX4 wheel and removing passenger 6way seat in the lux package...is odd. I like the "Marsh Gray (ie Brown)" statement on the sheet... kind of a "dont think of it as gray, its brown"... and I dislike the deleting of the wireless charging pads all around. I use that all the time, set it on the pad and drive, and its getting charged as I drive. Seems like most of those things they could have just let be the same until the next facelift then make changes like that. but who knows...
Marsh Gray had been removed for 2026. They will update the order guide soon.

It remains as a free standing option, or you can get the 4K towing, FX 4, or Tremor package and it's included.

i don't see the transmission cooler as std equipment on the Lobo- it lists the higher capacity fan and radiator but no trans cooler- must be an oversight in guide

Still glad I snagged a 24’ @2024 prices.
I’ll give a serious look see at the 2029 model when they hit the dealer lots.

By then battery problems and other recalls should be sorted. Plus with seven years of production I’ll feel I can Objectively look at these Mavbrids.

Seems both the Base Lobo & High Lobos never had the upgrade trans cooler. High Lobo did get the Trailer Assist stuff.

Edit….lots of mistakes in my post.
I think the above is correct?
