Seems the base Lobo never had the upgrade trans cooler - just the bigger radiator/fan. I think the High Lobo had the full 4K tow package which would have included the upgrade trans cooler.

I wonder if the 2026 High Lobos will get the 4K tow package again?
There was no 4K towing option available on any Lobo in 25

IIRC the Lobo hi got Pro Trailer Assist, but still limited to 2K

I thought is was standard and not an option. I think I’m wrong - thanks for clarifying!

As someone waiting for the "perfect" Maverick hybrid AWD to appear on the second-hand market, I'm pretty relieved that the 2026 will carry on what I need with nothing that I don't want. I previously was looking for an XLT Lux or higher, but my wants have shifted and now the XL 4K tow checks all the boxes. Power mirrors, spare tire, transmission oil cooler. Don't need a sliding back window, don't need wireless chargers, don't need the rear seat armrest, don't need alloy wheels, don't need the new lower air dam with the silver bezel, don't need the SIBL, don't need the storage cubbies, don't need the LED box lighting.

I dislike the deleting of the wireless charging pads all around. I use that all the time, set it on the pad and drive, and its getting charged as I drive.
I tried wireless charging and found the drawbacks to be less convenient than plugging in a cable. It's incredibly slow and makes my phone quite warm, whereas my phone supports 30W power delivery. It'll go from 0-80% in 30 minutes if plugged into a 30W or greater charger. That same 30-minute drive might make my phone creep up 20% on wireless charging.

If they were that worried about cost, make everything an option. you want the fx4 wheel...add on 1k. you want wireless charging, add on 500... you want the cheapest XL you can?....you dont add any extras onto it. why didnt they completely remove the rear window but moved it to an option?... I would assume Ford doesnt "sell" the addon for less than they paid for it...in which for everyone they "sell" gain more money from it... But then adding a tire inflator....raises cost.
Mini had that for a while where almost everything was a standalone option. I'm sure it made production more complicated, but it'd be great for new car buyers to pay for only the features they want and not be forced into a package or trim just to get one or two things.

the spare tire delete on the AWD is kinda puzzling. I wonder if they delete the entire hoist system and you're stuck not being able to add one at all unless you can add those parts back DIY.
That's what I was thinking as well...whether it can be added on after the fact or whether you'd be out of luck because some bracket or something that is welded to the chassis is omitted.

The other interesting bit for me is that the spare is a 215/70/17, but the road tires are 225/65/17, which are wider in section width but smaller in diameter. I guess they needed the spare to be 10mm narrower to raise it up higher?

i don't see the transmission cooler as std equipment on the Lobo- it lists the higher capacity fan and radiator but no trans cooler- must be an oversight in guide
Was the transmission cooler on the 2025 Lobo? From what I recall, I thought the Lobo had the high capacity radiator and fan but not the cooler.

I was going to get the 2025 XL EB. Checked all my boxes even without the 4k. Going to paint those steel wheels…but no paddle shifting? That was a show stopper. Every vehicle these days have paddles. My last car & truck before that had them. I was NOT going to have to learn how to drive a non manual automatic again. Luckily the Lobo had them & I was able to get a Maverick!

Three lugs is plenty adequate for the 1L 70 skinny horses.😆😆
The only time I drive it is with the top down, unless it gets too hot and I put the top up and turn on the air it's easy for me to get in and out of.
Het Glen, would love to watch you get out of it while inside that toy hauler! Hahaha. I would buy a ticket for that show! Have a great evening.

Why Ford is Making the Maverick a Worst truck? They Deleted the Wheel on the FX4 Package (and its not even a Option) you stick with the XTL standard Wheel. In my Opinion the FX4 was the best Maverick Wheel option.

Changing the wheel makes it the worst truck? Come on.

They are clearly reducing production variability to save on production cost, likely due to the impact of the T-word on their suppliers.

Sorry Glen, I had meant a different post I made about a fellow I saw at the RV park loading a Smart Car into a toy hauler!

This was what I was referring to. Never figured out how he climbed out of that. My back hurts just thinking about it! How about that "wind up" motor sticking out the back!

Wow. Who would have thought my 2023 Lariat hybrid BAP would be peak Maverick.

Real Keypad, heated windshield, alto blue paint (to match blue inside), navigation, phone charger pad, real spare tire, jack, and even black emblems. All for $32,561.

Peak Hybrid perhaps. But without a Turbo & 250hp it can hardly be considered peak Maverick.

At my age, I want more comfort and convenience as I drive around town at 30-45 mph than knowing I have extra horsepower. It does do just fine at 80-90 on the local 80mph interstate, tho.
