I can verify the coolant intrusion problem. My 2017 Escape with 2.0 had engine failure when reaching 50,000 mi. due to coolant getting into the cylinders. Ford replaced the engine under the drive train warranty. As for my 2025 Maverick Tremor, it will be replaced before reaching 50k miles.

That's about two generations behind what's in the 25+ Maverick.

your having the engine replaced ?
The truck. I don't plan to keep it for more than two years. My wife and I are planning to go down to one vehicle. We are well into retirement. Otherwise, the truck would be kept well beyond two years and 50,000 miles.

OP, really the only thing you need to know about the Maverick Ecoboost engine is that Ford's powertrain warranty runs 5 years and 60,000 mile. Everything else is Internet noise.

Also, there are probably a dozern existing threads on MTC discussing older version of Ecoboost engines and the 2025 repackaging (not a redesign, but a repackaging ofexisting Ecoboost components from other Ford engines).

The 25+ ecoboost is a redesign and should in theory not have that issue. The originals had slots cut into the block between the cylinders. These slots is where the constant headgasket issues came from. The redesign does not have those slots and are solid.

The 25 also has direct and port injection to reduce carbon build up. Seems like the motor should be good to go. The transmission is the weak point imo. I just bought a 25 and plan on taking meticulous care of it. I expect ford reliability out of it no different then my 2015 f150 which has been absolutely flawless.

This video keeps talking about the 26 EB engine. Does this video also apply to the 25 or were there actually changes from the 25 to 26 engine??? I do not know, just asking the question as I think it probably applies to the 25 also..................

My truck 2023 EB model. Now has 8,5xx miles, and will be 3 yo in Oct. Meticulously maintained. In spite 5yrs and 50k miles power train warranty, not is guaranteed, so I’m thinking ofFord extended warranty plan. Had that on my F250, worked well.

The “Ecoboost Nightmare” described in this AI video never affected our Mavericks. It haunted Mustangs & F150s and earlier versions of the 2.0 EB.

It has been “Sweet Dreams” for the 2.0EB since the Maverick’s intro - no nightmares 👻:)

Some AI videos are useful to this forum - this is not one of them. Bogus sorry.

I am not aware of any changes to the engine from 25 to 26.
Lube oil might . For Ecoboost, New WSS-M2C971-A1, different from WSS-M2C961-A1. The 971 is a new March 2025 oil specs, which has improvements like low speed preignition, heat, turbo lubrication, etc.
