Is this engine sound normal?

My wife's brand new (now 500 miles on it) Maverick Ecoboost AWD seemed to start making a louder noise than normal one morning. We popped the hood, and it sounded pretty dang loud to me. Ford is saying this is normal, that it's the high pressure fuel pump. Is this the normal engine sound? If so, for some reason it got louder than initial.

How cold was it outside that morning...?
But yes it's normal and slows down/ and gets a little quieter after it warm up a little.. Got mine Feb 10th and now have 2300 miles on it.. Kinda freaked me out a little in the beginning.. I called a guy I use to work with that has had his just over a year.. He said his sounds like that to... It's just the way they are

normal in the cold my mav dose it and the 2.3 ranger I had did it to. Ecoboost things I guess lol

Normal all newer cars with high pressure fuel pumps are really loud that’s why they make engine covers and on the Maverick it doesn’t have one to cut more cost out . A lot of guys buy the Escape 2.0 engine cover it does help but there’s nothing wrong.

Normal. They are much loader when cold on high idle
