Any ideas on whether or not Ford will be updating the battery for the 2025 Maverick? I know that previous years have had issues with the FLA batts. Curious if they’ll be switching to an AGM battery.

Seems most of those issues were fixed for 24.
I have a '24 and had had to go to the dealer twice to fix the front camera fault. When I asked the service writer he just laughed and said it's a Maverick.

I have a 2023 Lariat Hybrid and it is still going into deep sleep mode (no interior or exterior lights), even after driving, it is annoying with a new truck, but it did sit for two weeks and started without issue when I returned from vacation. A couple pending recalls, maybe one of them will resolve the "Deep Sleep" issue once and for all. The dealer did replace the battery the first time it happened and would not start after sitting for a week. Other than that I love the truck especially the gas mileage!

Some software glitches, maybe but batteries are still the same and CV axles need some miles to really see.

20-30k miles is a sweet spot for those CV's to go.

Don't hold your breath. The '24's are only 9 months old at most. I think they will be better, (let's hope) but the jury is not in yet. When the weather starts getting cold on those batteries and the miles start getting above 20k, we may have an indication how it's holding up. Already seeing some software issues.

Mine is a 22 and I have only put 4700 miles on it in the past 2 years. My battery is still good. Yes I will get the deep sleep a lot in the winter but it has started every time. I hope my luck continues. I did get my 5 outstanding recalls done yesterday when I had my oil changed so fingers crossed...

Deep sleep issues start when bears begin to hibernate. :cwl:

That sucks. I have no doubt I will be eventually replacing the Motorcraft battery when our 2025 comes in with a Diehard, just like I did last year with our 2022 Mav. When we got the truck back yesterday after Ford had to replace my Diehard with the same from Autozone (under warranty) I took the advice of others and pulled the TCU (Telematics Control Unit) fuse in the passenger fuse box. I'll see if that solves our battery drain problem but depending on the amount of time to get our new 2025 in, it might not rear its ugly head during the remainder of our time with it.

Would it be worthwhile or even possible for me to pop in my new Optima D75 Yellowtop AGM battery from my current vehicle when my Maverick arrives?

As long as you have a 3/36 bumper-to-bumper the battery is covered. My 22' with 20k miles have no CV joint or boot issues. The application started telling me it was disconnected from the truck when I didn't drive it for a day. I think the constant communication (before Ford updated the application) was draining batteries and triggering deep sleep modes when the voltage dipped below 9v.

To many dealerships have untrained grease monkeys working on rolling computers.
You raise a good point. Many mechanics don't even know what ohms law is so they have issues troubleshooting electrical problems let alone understanding software diagnostics and working on cars so dependent on computer systems.

You can only re train them so much. Best of both worlds is having a young whipper snapper with an old school mechanic working together.
