If this has already been covered elsewhere, my apologies. I have a 2022 Mav XLT and it was in the shop with the dealer to fix an on-going problem where the interior dome lights don't turn on when I open the door. According to the dealer, the reason for this is that Ford built in a feature in the electronics that disables those lights from turning on (apparently just when you open the door because they will turn on if you push them or right after you turn off the engine) whenever the 12v battery is less than 50% charged. Kinda crazy if you ask me. My battery, which I bought in July of last year, was at only 22% charge. Unknown why it was so low since most of the time, the truck just sits in the garage at home. I have an after market theft alarm but I don't normally arm it when it's in the garage. So, maybe they are just crummy batteries as it appears I'm not the only one with battery issues. Dealer claims its the fault of all the extra electronics in newer cars. Anyhow, I put a reminder in my phone to check the voltage more frequently. Thankfully, all of this was under warranty and didn't cost me anything. But otherwise, would have been almost $500 for a new battery. Hope the information is useful. Happy driving!

LOL that's crazy $$$ for a battery.
We've had deep sleep warnings about monthly where the interior lights don't come on when we open the door.

But knock on wood it's always started right up, even Monday after a week sitting in the airport parking lot. Truck delivered April 2023, original battery, 21k miles.

I was having the same issue with my ‘23. Would go into battery saver mode occasionally. Got back from a trip two weeks ago, after the truck sat at the airport for three days, the problem amplified. It started going into battery saver mode every time I parked it. Took it to the dealer to see what was up and ended up basing an issue with the original battery. Glad I got it resolved under warranty. Would have been a $500 replacement otherwise.

I assume the $500 is for 100% charging battery and updating software for the mfg charging specs and truck is needed for at least one overnight visit. Probably the lock truck overnight with battery fully charged new battery learn procedure. (Twice a year I fully charge battery and park locked over night for two or three times in a row to maybe let the learn build a little "fully charged battery condition history". 🤷

Welcome to the deep sleep problem. We are all waiting and waiting and waiting for Ford to do something about a problem they acknowledged a year ago and promised twice a solution this year and blew past both dates they promised a solution by. It affects all model year Ford Maverick hybrids. Be prepared to have your battery replaced multiple times. An AGM-type battery does not solve the deep sleep problem, it just extends the time until it occurs.

In some cases (like mine), nothing you do is going to make a difference. You can lock it, charge it, drive the hell out of it, replace the battery every six months, pull fuse 11, light some candles and pray over it and the battery saver mode will still pop up because the battery's SOC doesn't go north of say 30%. In this case your only recourse is to keep taking it back to the dealer and pile up some documentation until you have enough to file for mediation or possibly arbitration with Ford. It is a major PITA but taking action is still better than just accepting it. And if you go to sell it then you just make it someone else's problem which clearly isn't right. Of course trading in to the dealer would be reasonable but they'll probably beat you up real good. It's a real conundrum.

Is that what the dealer quoted you for a new battery??!! ($150 for the battery and $350 to install it?).
That’s very believable. Here in Northern California, the local Ford dealership wants $250.00 to change the oil in my 23 Hybrid - that doesn’t include the 10.25% sales tax.

I just got full synthetic for a few cents over $100 last week at my dealership.
Including 8.25% sales tax.

Sometimes it can be extremely difficult being a typical Canadian... so I will simply say welcome to the group. There is a wealth of experience, advice and ideas here. The issue you have has been covered a couple of times. I hope you find it helpful.

Battery issues have been covered on this site MANY times. Just throwing in my 2 cents.
The after market alarm system will be another drain on your 12V battery. I had this issue with an electric car and had the alarm system removed. When I bought my Maverick I declined the alarm system the dealer wanted to put in knowing that it would be a problem for the battery. I suggest that if you are parking it for days at a time you get a quality battery tender to keep it charged.

I am still having problems with the hybrid battery not fully charging up the 12 volt battery. The problems has happened more than 100 times over the last 3 years. I have been to 2 different Ford dealers here on the Island of Puerto Rico. I have brought it back to the ford dealer more than 20 to solve this issue, talked to Ford about a buy back program but they concluded that I did not complain about this problem soon enough which is bullshit of course. I just have to check my truck a few hours before I go anywhere to make sure that the 12 volt battery is above 12.5 volts or the truck will not start. It's a hassle if I have to go anywhere is the morning. I have to get up 2 hours earlier. 2022 Maverick hybrid 23,000 miles.

Yep, it varies by state or in your case territory, but in Ohio the problem must initially be documented within the first year of ownership. I feel your pain because I am currently awaiting an offer from Ford through mediation on this very issue. I suspect I may be looking at arbitration because I have a feeling they will be low balling me.
I wish I had a solution for you but unfortunately nobody at Ford or anywhere else knows what is causing this. Good luck and carry that power pack with you at all times.
