All I know is what I have experience. When I had a regular flood battery and got the dreaded "sleep" message and no dome lights, within 24 hours the battery completely died and I had to fully charge it.

With the AGM battery, I still get the "sleep" messages and no dome lights, but not as often and after I drive it for just a few minutes, I get back the dome lights and I am good to go for weeks (2 or more months).
Just when I thought the AGM was possibly the fix, you're still getting Deep Sleep messages with it?

I replaced my stock battery myself after about 11 months when it started consistently giving deep sleep messages. Now, roughly 11 months later again, my Diehard Gold is doing the same thing.

Fortunately I've never had my battery die. Just seems like around 12.2 volts is what triggers the deep sleep messages. Resetting the BMS sometimes fixes it for a while.

I've been to Ford dealers, they won't replace the battery under warranty if it still starts the truck and passes whatever test they give it. They also can't tell you why it's going into deep sleep.

Ford should offer a Maverick annual battery replacement program, for a reasonable price, since they can't fix the problem. šŸ˜‚ Maybe a free battery replacement with every oil change.

I opened my back door to remove groceries and left it open for a few minutes . I came back and heard relays clicking . I shut the door and then I locked the doors . I walked off and heard more noises . All while the truck is off . Then I walked by the truck to get the mail . More clicks . It’s no wonder some people are concerned about battery issues.
The clicking caused by the approaching fob appears to be turned off by double locking the truck with the fob button or double locking with the key pad. Not sure on double locking with the door handle ridges but the door handle does turn off the dash, info screen, and immediately turns the outside lighting early. The 4-6 hour after truck off clicking still occurs presumably for BMS to do its battery analysis routine.

After all this the real solution was when they recently replaced my 12 volt Battery . Since then I haven’t had any battery drain issues or other problems . Thanks for the info .

I left my '24 hybrid Lariat, 4100 mi on the odo, parked in my garage for 16 days while away.

Based on what I had been reading on the forum, I expected my 12v. battery would be dead and require charging after sitting that long. I was happily surprised!

When I opened the door, the interior lights came on and when I pushed the "start/stop" button, the usual splash screen appeared.

I backed out of my driveway, took it for a 10 mile spin to get the temp guage to show 4 bars = normal temp range.

I did not have a battery tender attached during my time away. I have not done any recalls. I disabled the FordPass a couple of months after I purchased my Mav. The key fob was in the house about 30 feet away if that matters. I have the OE Motorcraft battery.

I have not done any changes in Forscan etc. although I would love to enable the Traffic Sign Recognition so it displays in the cluster. But I am leery of creating issues, particularly when I have the recalls done.

I was delighted that I had no deep sleep issues, no messages, and that it went into "ready" mode immediately after pushing the start/stop button. The ICE did not join the EV until I hit a slight incline on my drive.

Sometimes, after being parked in my garage, the cabin lights don't come on when I enter to start it but I can live with that.

If it matters, mine is an early build '24, assigned the 3,170th VIN for MY 2024.

I feel very fortunate to not have any issues. I love my Mav.

I didn't have any issues until around 11 months and 11,000 miles.

Hi - RE: 11 months/11k miles = Curious, did you have any of the recalls done?

Did you do any mods using FORScan?

I had the engine wiring harness recall done at 17,000 miles. No other ones. The only thing I've changed with Forscan is enabling traffic sign recognition.

I did change the 12 volt battery state of charge to 95% recently, this is after the second battery started going to deep sleep.

Charged both my Maverick and Corsair several times to 100%. Within about 2 weeks they were both down to 60-60%.
Wow. Yeah, this whole "get a trickle charger" advice from dealerships is disappointing. I end up with a dead battery if I let the car sit for two nights in a row no matter how much I drive before parking.

It sounds like even though you've heeded their advice, the battery charger is still not a real solution if it's draining at that rate.

I just got a brand new replacement battery from the dealership about 2 1/2 weeks ago. This is the 2nd new battery replacement in about 1 year. And, I've had to jump it twice since I've gotten it back from the shop... with the new battery.

I wonder if they've resolved the battery drain problem in the 2025's. Wouldn't want to gamble on an upgrade for more money if it has the same issue.

Dropping 250 bucks on a high-quality 12 V battery for under the backseat solves all the problems as well I like having all the features work and I’m not worried about big brother following me around and see what I buy and where I go. If I’m gonna commit a major felony or do something I don’t want known I will take out my 66 Impala. It’s a lot scarier.
I was told that replacing the battery with a non-OEM battery would void my warranty.

Thats funny, using Forscan you will see Ford set up the programming for a Hybrid with factory settings showing AGM Battery. Its been the same for all 2022 - 2024 Hybrid Mavericks.

Therefore, settings show AGM battery on all Hybrids but have been delivered with Flooded batteries.

That isn't how the warranties work. They have to prove that the modification you did directly caused the failure.

https://www.autocare.org/government-relations/current-issues/Magnuson-Moss-Warranty-Act

"The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits product manufacturers from conditioning consumer warranties on the use of any original equipment part or service. Furthermore, a manufacturer can only deny warranty coverage if it can demonstrate that a non-original equipment part or related service caused a defect to occur in the original product. In the case of motor vehicles, new car manufacturers have ignored these conditions outlined in Magnuson-Moss and have misled consumers to believe that they must have dealer service shops install only original equipment replacement parts or fear having their new car warranty voided. "

Go back to your dealer and ask them how their claim that "replacing the battery with a non-OEM battery would void my warranty" fits in with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

I have solved my battery drain issue by going to the Ford Pass App on the Touchscreen and turning off connectivity . I turned off automatic updates , Wi-Fi and toggled off insurance data . I deleted my ford app on my phone . Now it’s not searching for my Wi-Fi signal parked in my garage . It’s not gathering info for my insurance company to use against me in court if I have an accident . It’s not refreshing to find a nearby ford dealer or my location if I want to navigate somewhere . I don’t need the fordpass app to tell my tire pressure or any other info , because all I have to do is look at the dash settings for that . All these things were draining my battery when the truck was off . Also no clicking noises now when it’s off . Try it if you are having the issue . Of course it could be a defective battery or the module that controls connectivity in the truck to the app . Ford may not have not told anyone this because they want to keep you connected to the app which is not necessary .
Yup, no honest vehicles anymore. They're all Narcs.

Could be. Had to get Ford road assist to jump me 4 times in as many days, twice in 1 day and had it towed. They found nothing wrong after 1.5 days at the dealer. My Ford app lost connectivity since you now need ios16 on my i phone7. Two days passed without going total dead. Bought this new Maverick hybrid in march and only 3100 miles. I am 74 and wanted a dependable vehicle and it has been a nightmare. Also problem with brakes and the dealer redid the rotors. Would not go on a long trip with this Maverick as I dont trust all these ridiculous electronics, sensors, spy gadgets, modules and controls. Wish Ford would take it back and return my money. Had Fords all my life and left Ford a few years ago when they stopped making the Ranger so I got a Colorado. Should have kept the old high mileage Colorado that I could depend on to start, go and get me back. Ford lost billions going full tilt ev to keep politicians happy and I predict they will lose lots more with their unproven and tested programming and electronics.

Have not had an issue since disabling Ford Pass App. Actually, my iphone did it since it became outdated and needs an upgrade to work with the app.

I wonder is it only the hybrids that have the battery drain issue or do the ecoboost have the same problem
