Well that about seals it. August 15th I am going to order a 2023 and when / if my 2022 order comes in the dealer will get a nice little $10K up charge
Buy the 22my, enjoy it, and then resell it. Because the Maverick demand will still be high...your 23my will be discounted that way....we all deserve a discount for waiting.

Appreciate the advice. I was told that the tonneau cannot be removed once your order hits priority 2. It's now been 3 months of priority 2. sigh.
Hello, I ordered my Maverick 12/2021. I have not seen any notice of " Priority" ??? What does that mean?

we will have the official notification about who gets bumped to a MY2023 build by ~ August 1st. I'm not even mildly concerned about next steps until we got notified. YMMV

it means you need to talk to your selling dealer and ask them to look it up on the Vehicle Visibility Report they get. Best to visit in person to see it. Many sales people seem to resist answering remote requests for this type of info. Ford will not automatically notify you on this..

No, it will be brand new. Likely no difference between a 22/23 anyways. MY doesn't matter to me as I plan on keeping it forever. However if I did at some point decide to trade or move it the mileage would be lower than average for the year and bring a higher price (y)
👍 It's our first pickup don't know if we will like it but we're excited. Newer model year will bring better price if we decide it's not for us. We are in the burbs outside of LA in a sea of Teslas but I have yet to see a Maverick in my neighborhood.

Before Ford changed the notification process to "build-day", people used to wait for Thursdays and dream of receiving the email from Ford that they had a build week.

Can someone detail what happens nowadays? I know from Ford chat that I supposedly have a Aug 1 build week. However, I am not expecting to hear anything this Thursday, and will not hear anything until Ford assigns me a "build-day" - and that may not happen until later in July (a few weeks before Aug 1).

So, I am thinking on some random day (is it still only on Thursdays) in late July, I might see the Ford email arrive.
Is that pretty much how it goes down since they changed things?

You are a week ahead of me and just a different color...Would like to see if anyone from the October/21 Hybrid orders come to reality.
Good luck!

you'll still get scheduled 6-8 weeks in advance but ford doesnt email to tell you until 3 weeks or so before now.

Giving up on any Mav order at this point is like swimming halfway across the English Channel and deciding it it is too far and then turning around and swimming back.

Well I have zero faith in this scheduling. I contacted Ford yesterday and I have been moved to 8/15 already, but we are scheduling 8/1 this week. That seems convenient.

Is that pretty much how it goes down since they changed things?

I stopped by my dealer the last week in April and was told that I have a build week of June 6. I was given a VIN and confirmed with the Ford Maverick team.

May 27 I received an email from Ford that my Maverick was scheduled for production the week of June 20.

I called Ford about a week later and was told my build week was moved to June 27.

June 8 I received an email from Ford stating the same thing.

I called Ford Friday and was told that my build DAY is June 29. The rep told me that when you are assigned a build day it means that they have all of the parts to build your vehicle either on hand or will be there by your build date.

He also said that when you actually have an assigned date instead of just a build week that it usually does not change.

I guess I will believe it when I check the tracker and it shows in production but maybe not even then.
