I picked up my ’23 Lariat Lux yesterday and was surprised about some of the differences! First I noticed the wheels were different. The new ones seem to have thicker and straighter silver outlines. Then I noticed the temperature knobs no longer displayed a number, just a thermometer icon.

Finally, driving home I kept thinking the steering wheel felt different, smoother I think. Since my ‘22 was traded in I can’t look at it again☹

Any other differences anyone has noticed?

Temperature display was removed as a cost reduction sometime in 2022. It never returned.

Also the steering wheel wrap was changed to Active-X sometime in 2022, but returned to leather wrapped in 2023. Your old one might have had Active-X.
My 23 XLT lux has the active x also $44,000 Edge lux has the same wheel.

Probably no heated steering wheel either, I never saw a need but they are nice in the cold and sometimes heavy AC use.

2023-24MY Mavericks get heated steering wheels in their Luxury Packages, XLT or Lariat... XLT even gets the upgrade to the leather/pleather version.

Back to a vinyl wrap steering wheel for '24. This gets confusing.

I installed one of these on my Lariat. Cheaper than Ford's but works the same. Makes the truck feel more premium:

I also got one of these for my key fob. Again, just a cosmetic change that makes the truck feel more premium:

I have a bug deflector coming from Ford that I used my FordPass points on. And I am getting Line-X sprayed on Friday morning.

I need to check that! I used it all the time in the winter!

I had the tailgate assist switched from my 22 to the 23, couldn’t live without it. I also bought a similar key fob cover in Atlas blue for my 22 which I kept. My hood deflector should arrive today or tomorrow.

I ordered the BakFlip MX4 which arrived yesterday but I couldn’t even pick up the package so I cal RealTruck to find out each hard panel weighs 20 lbs so lifting the 3rd part of the trifold would be lifting 60 lbs which I can’t do. It is being returned. The one the salesman said I could probably handle is the Extang ALX soft trifold which sounds better. It also saves me $600!

Right? If I could only have one, I'd take a heated steering wheel over heated seats every time. I hate driving in gloves! Having both is awesome!

You have the heated steering wheel. Comes with the Lariat Lux. That was a must have. You would be surprised how often I enjoy it in the winter even here.

I originally had the optional Black painted wheels on my 2022 order because I thought they were the same as the FX4. When I found out they weren't I took them off. I prefer the all back ones like what are on the BAP and that was one of the primary reasons I added the package. I always put a steering wheel cover on because I don't want them to fade and tear over time so it still looks new when I go to sell it. I don't know if it affects the steering wheel sensors though as I get the "hands on the wheel!" notification all the time even though my hands are on it.

I might be imagining this but wasn’t there something here in the 22 Lariat Lux?

Obviously my favorite heated steering wheel and seats are here😊
