‘22 Lariat Lux vs ‘23 Lariat Lux - Differences?

I picked up my ’23 Lariat Lux yesterday and was surprised about some of the differences! First I noticed the wheels were different. The new ones seem to have thicker and straighter silver outlines. Then I noticed the temperature knobs no longer displayed a number, just a thermometer icon.

Finally, driving home I kept thinking the steering wheel felt different, smoother I think. Since my ‘22 was traded in I can’t look at it again

Any other differences anyone has noticed?

Temperature display was removed as a cost reduction sometime in 2022. It never returned.

Also the steering wheel wrap was changed to Active-X sometime in 2022, but returned to leather wrapped in 2023. Your old one might have had Active-X.

I think they dropped the leather wrapped steering wheel at some point and put in the standard vinyl wrapped.

Steering wheel is nicer, in my opinion. Our Escape had the active-X wheel and the leather is a lot softer.

I purchased the optional painted wheels. I thought they looked nicer. Dealer hadn't actually seen them before and also liked them (so my dealership didn't get any FEs and I was the only one to order the add-on).

Thank you! I think it was more textured than this smooth one. This one feels cheap like it’s probably vinyl I guess a steering wheel wrap will be on my list of mods.

Yes, it feels like vinyl.

I just looked at the sticker and it does say leather wrapped but I liked the the ActiveX better. I do like the optional wheels better though!

You will get used to it but it is definitely different. Also Lost the remote start on the key fob. It's an added option I didn't realize I had to add it to the 23. I was disappointed about the temperature control knod change as well.

If you can find some on eBay, I don't think you will have trouble selling your current wheels. Seems the steelies are in abundance so should be someone willing to buy your current set.
