Plan on taking it down some dirt/gravel roads to see how it handles but like I said I haven’t had any time between work and getting settled.
FWD should be just fine for the terrain you describe, I'm betting you'll be perfectly happy with it. As suggested before, I would just keep what you have vs swapping for the XLT AWD.

Kinda dependent on what you do. If your strictly on pavement yea youll miss it some.

If you have to pick only one, LUX vs AWD, the answer depends on how much you are enjoying the LUX features. Remember, those features you are more likely to use everyday, but you need the AWD only very occasionally.
Yeah very true. I’m really even trying to decide if I would ever use the awd, especially here in eastern Tennessee. If I ever did decide to do some more serious stuff outdoors off the beaten path I could save up for a dedicated 4x4.

Generally about 70 miles a day round trip for works, about 3/4 of that is a small easy to drive hwy. other than that it would be driving to fishing spots, maybe an access road every so often and highways through the smokies and the occasion turnout. Honestly nothing very crazy. I just moved here so would like to explore some but doubt it would require more than two wheels.

Johnny's Car Care & Reviews on YouTube has a video on a FWD Mav in the snow in Canada. He seemed to do pretty good with it. The Mav has some type of special traction control system (I forgot the name) in FWD configurations that would probably make it better than your Silverado was. I was kinda in the same position as you when deciding on which Mav to get, Hybrid FWD vs Eco AWD (always wanted the Lariat trim). Ended up deciding that the likelihood of gas prices increasing was higher than a Zombie apocalypse and I'd be just commuting to work more than I'd be exploring trails with the family...

Definitely agree. I’m going to take my maverick on a few trails this weekend to test her out. Very well travelled gravel roads in the smokies. And honestly, if I ever decide to start really taking more trails off the beaten path then my maverick will take me to work and help save money for a jeep lol.
