I ordered my beloved Maverick in September 2022, took delivery in August 2023. Now, December 2024, with 18K miles on it, I have been rear-ended by a young woman that was clearly distracted. Claims she was busy looking at the traffic light that had turned red 10 seconds prior to the impact.... so yeah.

It doesn't look bad, LOL. The bumper faces down at 45 degrees, the bed floor has a slight hump to it, the sides of the bed now are touching the rear doors, the tail gate doesn't open fully and is hard to close. And worst of all, the frame is bent on the drivers side just ahead of the rear wheel. From other posts here I am guessing that it is going to be totalled by insurance.

So, any chance they'll give me enough to buy a new 25? What has been other peoples experience with that been?

(I'm trying to upload photos but they never seem to load. Grrr.)

About the only thing I can point out is that the Maverick has held its value incredibly well. So well that it is one of the top vehicles for resell value. The fact that the newer model year Mavericks have gone up so much in MSRP has helped our early models.

What they are going to do is look at what other Mavericks in the area are selling for and base their value off those like comparisons. Sometimes this works out negatively for you and sometimes it is fantastic.

Good luck!

Huh? Over a year old, 18K miles, and you think insurance should pay enough to buy a new one?

Start removing anything you added and want to keep.

If it isn't deemed totaled, they didn't look at it very well. I had no visible damage until the plastic was removed on the passenger side and then I still can barely feel or see the stress mark on the "frame". Measurements have the bumper/receiver bolts moving less the 3/8" on 1 side and less than1/4: on the other. No gap changes, tailgate opens without issue and the bed floor has novisible damage. $43K estimate to replace the rear unrepairable "frame"

Wasn't my experience at 3 months and 3,000 miles old. Estimating it cost me at least $6000 to "rent" it.

Don’t you have “total replacement insurance” in the U.S. We have it here in Canada where in the first 5 years if your car is totaled you get a new one of the same value. Mind you, it cost an extra $400 a year for those 5 years if you opt jn.

I'm assuming everyone was all right?
Are you using your phone or your computer to try and upload?

Sadly we're getting quite the list

After insurance settles for pain and suffering he’ll get close.

Yeah get an attorney and pay him or her out of pocket rather than letting your insurance company handle it.
You don’t know how this works guy.

Your insurance company isn’t fighting for you to get more than your vehicle fixed.

An attorney gets paid when you get paid. They’ll take a cut but it’ll be worth far more than just repairing the damage to the vehicle.

I’ve been hit by three drunk drivers. Each time I’ve had an attorney and each time I haven’t paid them until it was settled with drivers insurance - and each time I got far more than what totaled vehicle was actually worth.

Glad you are OK, that's the main thing. Based on your description, I would assume it is totaled.
Here in an example of one selling at retail in your general area at $35K. Wouldn't think you could get a MY25 Lariat at that price unless you insurance that replaces in full for a newer model year. Good Luck, wish you well throughout the process.
