I've always wondered does it save that much gas in regular driving conditions like just normal stop light in a smaller town? I'm sure it helps in heavy city traffic obviously. I also wonder if all the constant restarting bad for the battery, starter, spark plugs etc? I feel like when I get my truck I'll probably turn it off most days. Do you guys use the auto start stop or do you turn yours off?

I hate it it, was one of the first things I disabled using ForScan. I also disabled it for my dad in his 23' Lincoln Corsair

Use it all the time in the summer. Does not always work in the winter due to the cold temps. Saves gas.

As far a wearing out the starter, I have no idea, but I only drive about 3.5K a year so.........

Me no likey.
It's not as noticeable as in other vehicles, but for my driving I'm not sitting long enough for it to make a difference in MPG.
Someone does sell a gizmo that disables it for $100 but I'm just getting in the habit of turning it off when I get in.
I just don't like the idea of extra wear on the starter & battery. I work from home so my vehicle may sit for days just to make a 5 minute trip to the store, so I have a Battery Tender I'll throw on my older vehicles to keep the juice up.
Sport Mode will also disable it.
I think the gizmo is called Autostop Eliminator.

Hate it. My wife's Bronco Sport has it... We usually turn it off. Now on hybrids it's not an issue!

If you drive in an urban area with a mild climate, it will save gas. If you drive in a rural area or hot climate with air it is basically worthless. I live in a rural area in the south and stop start rarely ever kicks in, so I don't need to even disable it.

Plenty of threads already on this, with opinions, options, links, videos, etc etc etc.

It does save a very small amount of fuel.
I still dislike it and used the eliminator.

other than sitting in gridlocked traffic I can't imagine it's amounting to much savings in fuel.

on my hybrid obviously no issue since the engine and starting and stopping during regular driving and I have the electric motor available to get me moving before the engine fires up.

I haven't driven the mav ecoboost but I have noticed on other ICE vehicles this feature can be annoying when you take off. perhaps it just takes some getting used to?

I don't like it. Too many times it turns the truck off just a few seconds before the light turns green. I now try to remember to turn it off. I live in a rural area and don't think it really saves much gas. Some say that the system does cause more wear and tear on your vehicle. Probably just a way to meet the government mileage standards.

I don't mind it. For me it's not annoying. Actually appreciate in a drive thru line, it quiet and I really enjoy the radio, that is until I order. Even then I appreciate it because normally the speakers in the drive thru ordering , is hard to hear and understand as it is. To each their own, that's why they offer a switch to turn it off. Personally I like to look at the positives and saving money at the gas pump and the quiet is more than enough for me. I think your best advice is wait tell you try it and make your own decision not mine or someone else's.

Hate it. I think the amount of gas it "saves" is miniscule so the feature is borderline gimmick. Since I don't race up to a stoplight the engine is only off for a few seconds anyway. Sometimes only 1 or 2 seconds.

I drive 90% of the time in Sport Mode. Sport mode automatically turns it off. When I'm not in sport mode, I turn it off manually. In my F-150 its the first thing I do, shut if off.
