And just another note for more context of power, despite have ~1/3 less horsepower than the ecoboost Maverick, the hybrids are only 1 to 1.5 second slower getting 60mph.

No, a hybrid doesn't have engine start/stop. It has hybrid operation.

First, engine start/stop is referring to turning the engine off automatically when stopped, in Drive (such as waiting at a red light). The engine will shut off if it's not needed, then kick on automatically as soon as you touch the gas, turn the wheel, or any other factor the computer uses. Some people prefer the gas engine stay on the whole time rather than waiting a split-second for it to turn back on.

In a hybrid, however, it can run on gas, electricity, or both. The gas engine basically only kicks on when the battery charge is too low, you need more heat than electricity can produce, or you need more power than electricity alone can give you (you step on the gas hard). So, by design, it will frequently cycle the engine on and off as needed; this is how a hybrid works. Because you have the electric motor, there is no lag time from a stop, even with the engine off. The electric motor gives you power right away, and the engine will kick on when needed, seamlessly.

The one direct comp of acceleration I've seen surprisingly puts the hybrid faster from 40-80 and slower from 0-40.

I have a Ecoboost Escape that has auto stop/start. Once you get used to it, it’s barely noticeable.
As has been said, a hybrid is going to do this simply because that’s the way they work.

I consider a toaster high tech. So just to confirm, when you are at a red light, there is no second or two of hesitation to re-engage when you are at a light? And the starter is not worn out quickly because it doesn’t fully turn off ?
What starter? It's a hybrid, it does not have a starter.

And because it is a hybrid yes the engine turns off when not required, like sitting at a red light. Caveat being if the engine is cold and you have the heat turned on. If the engine is hot it will turn off as it no longer needs to burn gas just to create heat for the cabin.
The electric motor will give you instant torque when you apply the accelerator, unlike an engine which yes will get you moving will take a bit to reach an RPM that can move you fast.

No, not talking about using a remote. I mean people who say the truck turns off every time you are at a stop light. I see mentioning some device for $100 that needs to be attached to disable it or you have to remember to press a button somewhere to prevent it from working, but you have to do it every single time you start the vehicle. Just trying to find out if this is a feature on the base hybrid.
No that is not the case with the hybrid, Auto stop start is on the Eco boost not the hybrid

I didn’t even know about this until being on this site. I ordered a Velocity Blue base hybrid with only a drop in bed liner. Auto Start/Stop sounds like a pain to me. Is this something that is on the base model ?
The short answer is no

Hybrid technology sort of IS start stop.
Yeah. I'm not sure why people are saying it doesn't have stop/start, because it effectively does the same thing it just has the electric motor bridge so it can run in "stop" mode more.

the Hybrid doesn't just shut off the engine like it does in ecoboost
