actually, I explained why it was a really weak argument for you to base the validity of someone's opinion on whether they've paid money for it. people who have bought something are actually more likely to have exaggeratedly high opinions of it to justify their decision- confirmation bias.
Answer the question and stop deflecting. How many EVs have you driven or owned? Jesus christ man it has been like pulling teeth to get you answer this simple basic question.

Had they dropped the ecoboost, i wouldn't have bought one.
And why is that. The hybrid is fun to drive. I have had 2 highly modified mustang gt’s in the past. I’m not any less happy driving my hybrid Maverick. Is it a sports car? No but It has plenty of power and is fun in sport mode. I’m still averaging over 40 mpg and I don’t drive like a grandma…

Even a couple hundred miles of range is going to be expensive. To be $25k, it would probably have to be in the 80-100 mile range category. The battery on the F150 alone is around $50k according to Ford.

Ford is losing their shirts on EVs because their battery prices are so high compared to Tesla etc.

The Hellcat Is gone along with the Hemi engine in general. The Hemi may still be used in some larger trucks that I am unaware of.

I would say that, in and of itself, will boost Dodge's CAFE standards somewhat.

Joking aside, they will sell the Banshee as the thing will be faster than a scalded cat on steroids and loaded to the gills with all the tech available at the time. Price tag: 6 figures easily. The new vehicle of choice for all the drug dealers now the the Hellcat is gone.
6.4 Hemi will live on in the HD trucks.

Nope why would they alienate half the sales. I just wouldn’t buy one. I like some I like my vehicles to have some feeling or some aspect of them I really like for pure driver satisfaction.
None of that happens with the hybrid. It does with the ecoboost. I’d be much more tempted to go plug in electric for my around town than a hybrid. They just lack soul. Well and lots of power compare to the ecoboost.
Half? More like 25-30%. May be much less next year with AWD & 4K offered on the hybrid. My guess is that by the 2028MY redesign, Hybrid will be the only choice.

Personally, I've only ever driven one. A Volvo that I rented to drive from DC to Delaware for a funeral. It was that experience that showed me that the EV infrastructure has a ways to go. Despite that area being bluer than my truck, the number of actual high speed charger available was poor. That said, I was practically tripping over Tesla superchargers. So, Ford just adopting the Tesla charging port is the correct call.

I've told my wife it is a good thing I bought the Maverick when I did. If I was vehicle shopping right now, I would 100% own a Lightning given the current deals (if not for the Super Duties being roughly the same price).

Overall pretty sensible as we are on the edge of some great new batteries… lower cost, more available ingredients, faster charging and higher capacity. We’re in the Netscape period of EVs.

Give me a $25,000 electric Maverick. I don’t care if the range is only a couple of hundred miles. It won’t be for everyone. But for those of us that can recharge at home, and seldom take long trips, it would be perfect.
I could go for this. We currently have an F-150 ICE truck along with a '22 Mav (soon to be replaced by a '25). The need for the F-150 is getting less and less so to have a couple of Mavs, one for shorter drives (the EV) and the other longer (the hybrid), would be a nice fit.

I think the problem is that electrics are over luxuried and over priced.

With no ICE, single modest electric motor, and modest battery size, they should be cheap. I don’t want a $60,000+ vehicle, EV or not.

I'd even go with an electric version of the Japeneese mini trucks you can import if they are 25 years old.

My problem is the size of my garages. I can barely even fit in my Maverick. My 1970s rambler has a two car garage that is just big enough for an Escape and an Ecosport. Those are the size of vehicles I need.

Unfortunately those price declines aren't translating to significant savings for Ford. The battery in a Tesla, which is among the cheapest in the world, is still in the mid teens by comparison. I've read Ford is charging $35,000 for a new battery for the Lightning. IIRC it's 133 kWh.

The Lightning fail was not due its price. It's easy enough to top 80K on an F150. The Lightning has a 100 mile range (maybe) towing a camper. Pretty useless. People don't need or want a full size truck as an energy saving commuter car. The Chevy Bolt was the most sensible EV made to date and GM could sell enough and canned it.

Buying an EV for towing is stupid.

Full size pickup buyers have a reasonable expectation of towing. Building a full size pickup EV is what's stupid.
