Well that and they just stated recently that they are gonna do one more run in 25 of the hellcat Durango. So it’s not dead yet.
Yes but Durango is being canceled soon. The HD Trucks will be the last vehicles to use the Hemi.

Keep in mind, there are also more Hybrid Maverick owners than EcoBoost.
Does anyone have the actual numbers. By the link I added and according to ford authority it’s actually less. But I’m not for certain that’s just what I found on a quick search

Yes I have. In fact I’ve driven about any ford had made in the past few years.
I agree an auto is less fun but not zero fun. Mine is tuned for e30 and it’s a shockingly fun truck for what it is.
if ford decides to actually make a fast hybrid then I agree but they have not so that point is moot.
Oh okay. I thought the previous statement was more about hybrids generally not being fun and liking driving enjoyment driving. I didn't realize you were talking specifically about Ford and what they have done so far.

Well Hybrids have been severely constrained in past years, but at one point over 80% of pending orders were for hybrids, when Ford could build 50% as hybrids in 2023. More than half of 2023's were sold as hybrids in 2023, so they must've found a bit more capacity. See: https://www.wired.com/story/the-202...at-hybrid-pickup-trucks-are-going-mainstream/

A lot more than half of 2024's are being built as hybrids, (those final numbers will take a few months) as hybrid parts are more available this year. By the end of 2025, Ecoboost sales will be insignificant as the AWD & 4K options are finally available soon on the hybrids.

I think the problem is that electrics are over luxuried and over priced.

With no ICE, single modest electric motor, and modest battery size, they should be cheap. I don’t want a $60,000+ vehicle, EV or not.

Give me a $25,000 electric Maverick. I don’t care if the range is only a couple of hundred miles. It won’t be for everyone. But for those of us that can recharge at home, and seldom take long trips, it would be perfect.
Ford didi market a EV Ranger long ago. Big pan of lead acid 12v batteries under the vehicle. Max range 36 miles as I recall.

I believe that was 1993. They sold a few, but really bad to use 12Volts.

Considering Ford can't even sell a Maverick for $25K anymore at all, You are bit off on that price. Ford tried to price the new Low cost EV's at $25K, but realized they can't. $30K is the new base Number. Considering a 2025 Maverick starts at about $28K with destination, $30K would be dirt cheap for an EV. At that price point you would be lucky to get 200 miles of range.

The CHEAPEST EV out currently, is the super basic Nissan Leaf, at $29,300. With that you only get 149 miles of range. You may need to adjust your expectations a bit, as what you expect is no longer realistic at all.

YUP........I was in the EV department at that time. Think I still have a sales brochure laying around.

Who says Ford can't sell a Maverick for $25,000? They're not selling it for that because they don't have to because people are willing to pay more. It's like I could sell my house for $300,000 but if somebody is going to pay $500,000 I will choose the latter all day long. Unless there is evidence that they're losing money at 25k

Ford says they can't. I bought my XL in 2023 for $25K with 5 options, but they are not that price anymore. 2024 was over $25K with destination without options, and 2025's are right at $28K with destination BEFORE any options. So no, Ford dealers will not sell you one for $25K. They will not sell below their cost. By the time the EV small pickup comes out, we will be lucky to get one at $30K.

That did not answer my question I don't believe the dealer. I'm saying is there any evidence that is selling it below cost? It's supply and demand. If somebody is willing to pay 28k for it they're not going to sell it for 25k. I didn't ask Will a dealer sell me one for that price I asked if Ford could if they wanted to

Things are going just fine.
Things are great.
Move along.
Nothing to see here.

OOPS!!

"As demand for all-electric vehicles began to fall behind expected levels of growth a few months ago – even as sales continue to rise – Ford has dialed back its planned investments into electrification somewhat, "
I think that is simple basic english? Demand has fallen behind expected levels of growth even as sales continue to rise.... So that is interpreted as the market has crashed and the man has fallen off a cliff? Good to know.... Also this is Ford not the automotive market.

Dealer cost is a known number. There is not $2,000 markup on a XL Maverick. Much less $3k. This we know.
