But what was the cause of the rattle? Inquiring minds would like to know.
I had my 2022 Maverick hybrid in for the dash rattle this week. They said Ford told them not to waste time working the issue, they are working on a fix. It applies to 2 wheel drive vehicles, my paper work says the bulletin number is SSM 52431. The service guy said that Ford will have a fix later in 2024.

I have a rattle in my AWD maverick dash, it comes and goes. Seems a little more prevalent during cold weather. 34,800 miles now, kept waiting for it to get more consistent guess I’ll just have to live with since warranty is about up.

I'm so glad I've never had this problem, or if it exists it's not as bad as some of the stuff I've heard. I watched a video from someone about their issue and no doubt I would have gone nuts with that much rattling. I chalk up a little here and there to road noise and being on crappy Montana roads while not riding in an SL500 Benz, but no way is the amount of rattling some of you all have described an okay amount. Definitely enough to drive someone crazy... get it... drive... someone crazy... ok.

So over 2 years and they think the finely believe us and may have a solution. Not good Ford.

My son in law and I both have 2024 FX4’s. They do not have the rattle, however my friends 2023 Hybrid does. We should hear from 2024 owners as to whether or not they are experiencing the dreaded rattle

That’s fantastic news as I have it and it’s annoying.

So, is there a company (Ford service) fix for the rattle yet? My 24 Lariat seems to be getting worse or maybe just really annoying, so it seems worse.

Hi Darrell! I can look into your Maverick's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Maverick's VIN?

The rattle is likely the windshield alignment pins hitting the metal body, especially if it gets worse when it's cold.

My 22 lariat has dash rattle that mainly occurs when it’s cooler weather. I’ve not taken it in as it comes and goes. If it’s the windshield my dealer doesn’t have the skill set to fix it. I’ll probably just live with it as I’m at 35,100 miles now.

The dealer won't reseat it. They'll get an auto glass shop to do it.

You can also fix it yourself if you want, without pulling the windshield. Search for "windshield alignment pins" here and you'll find the thread.

ā€˜24 Lariat EB FX4 & Tow Pack; ~1600mi. I’ve got the rattle akin to a loose wire harness in the center dash, only ā€œknocksā€ going over bumps. I removed the center speaker and felt around with no luck finding anything loose, but will likely try again soon. I was hopeful it was the harness for the speaker, but I removed the speaker and went for a test drive and it was still there. I can also confirm there is a foam piece down in the crevasse between the dash and windshield that came from the factory. Similar to the DIY strip people are doing. Not visible when driving, you’ve gotta stick your head over the dash and peer down.

I have a dash rattle in cold weather that I think is from the windshield pins.

In summer, it's replaced by a hot weather rattle that sounds like maybe a cable connector hitting plastic. For some reason it's worse when going uphill and on asphalt-over-concrete paving. Every expansion joint in the road rattles like crazy! And my town is full of this type of road surface.

The dealer wants to pull the dash to find and try to fix the hot weather rattle. I fear they might not find it, and introduce new rattles. So I crank up the music. šŸ™„

Other than the rattles and software updates, my '23 Hybrid has been trouble-free.
