The thing I don’t like about Waze is that it wont show you the speed limit unless either you exceed or match it exactlly.
I believe that is configurable in settings.
  1. Open Waze
  2. Tap

  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Speedometer
  5. Turn on "Show on map"
  6. Set your speedometer preferences:
    • Tap Show speed limit and select when you want to see the speed limit
    • Tap Speeding threshold and select what Waze should consider speeding

    • Turn on "Alert when speeding" to hear a sound when you reach the speed limit

Wow, thank you! I really should dig down in these things! I am going to have to hand in my “Nerd-card”.

I prefer Apple Maps. I’m not a fan of Google and how much they track everything about us and sell it for profit.

I prefer Waze b/c it shows the accident and alternate routes if needed. Also, when I set my cruise control to 70 I noticed the speed is always fluctuating in Waze. But when I use Waze in my Taurus the speed in never fluctuate it just displays 70. Anyone else see this problem?

Didn't say it was Google maps, said it was Google. As in, Google owns Waze. 😉
The difference between the two, while maybe for you....nuanced, is huge to others. Mapping data is shared yes, but other things set Waze apart.

English seems hard to understand, again I never said it was Google maps, or anything like it. Simply that it is owned by Google. 😩

Which do you prefer? Apple or Google maps for CarPlay in Maverick XL. And reason
I use Google maps because it shows traffic, don’t know why Apple couldn’t show traffic on their maps too.

I've used both in my lariat. I have no preference to be honest, they both have provided accurate directions for me which is all I care about.
I use Wayze been using for year's. I like their platform, map is more detailed also. Notifications are way better also. Just my 2 cents

Like all other navigation aids and GPS systems, i immediately turned off all the voice instructions. Nobody likes a nag.
I was just about to see if I could find an app which would substitute the programmed voice instructions with ones of my wife including her intonations and adjectives. Of course I prefer to get the "Turn Here!!" Prior to the intersection!

Depends on what I am doing and/or going. If I just need street directions, I'll use Apple. But sometimes I like aerial view, which Apple doesn't offer in CarPlay, so I'll switch to Google Maps.

Maybe someday Apple will get off whatever horse their riding and offer the aerials as well.

I have used all 3 and I find them all adequate. The only reason I prefer Apple Maps is I also get the haptic feedback on my wrist through the Apple Watch so I can have other things on the display and still not miss my turns.

Google Maps. I’m a truck driver and the street view is a real help in finding some of the places I have to go to. So I just continue to use it in my own vehicle. I use Apple Maps as a backup to verify iffy results. Copilot Truck is my workhorse at work. Google and Apple are the backups.

I got a new phone. I prefer Google maps, but AA does not seem to be able to find my maps. I blame it on AA since if seems to be a very basic program, almost like MS-DOS. You would think they could do better. My wife used Apple maps in Europe and she was constantly going the wrong directions. She says it works great in the states
