When I plug my phone in (iPhone) I have no access to the fm radio. No clue how to gain such access. So I just listen to pandora or Sirius thru the phone. I’d be curious to learn if there is a way to get the radio to work when my phone is plugged in.​

You can display audio info in the gauge cluster screen. This is what I do when I need to see FM station info while using Android Auto on the main screen.

Get the tune in app. This will give you various radio stations. Fm.

My 2023 XLT hybrid with android phone plugged in with android auto google maps on display plays FM or AM radio no issues. I change channel with steering wheel control. No idea WHY you cant.

BUT you can get back to regular ford screen with one of the buttons on bottom of screen. I cant remember which one. Once their click radio and source and choose FM. Then click one of the bottom buttons to get back to google maps. So I know it can be done . I listen to FM radio all the time with google maps guiding me.

on my XL base with Android phone when my bluetooth is on and USB cable connected my radio used to go to Android Auto automatically and there is no access to the radio or Usb drive. You have to configure so that Android Auto does not start automatically. When you are in Android Auto use the little icon in the lower left corner of the screen to exit Android Auto and get back to the main screen where you have radio control. I have the base radio so I don't know what Sync 3 or 4 look like or how they work.

23 XLT here, apple car play, kindergarten computer skill level. In the top left corner of the centre screen, press the home button and search for audio input, AM-FM-USB-CarPlay--.
Also when when your phone is connected to car play/android? it will first come on in full screen maps. In the bottom left corner of the screen is a small icon (looks like a tv screen), touch that and you will get the split screen. Mine (I think was set up through car play) shows the map left half of screen and the other side shows the directions, my calendar, and the bottom right shows the controls for the currently selected audio source. When you touch any of them that goes to full screen,for that item, then just touch the bottom left to go back to the split screen.
Hopefully this makes sense, I'll try tomorrow to take pictures and post.

You have an 8" screen, splitting that to display carplay AND radio would make Carplay basically unusable.

When you change the radio station it displays on the infotainment screen in a top bar temporarily. As others have said, you can also display radio/audio settings on your driver screen.

It's been very easy for me to navigate in both my 2023 XLT and 2025 Lariat.
