I am not mechanically educated. I know this has been discussed on other threads, but it seems to be all opinion. I have a 2024 Lariat Hybrid with almost 5K miles. (1,600 of that was a cross-country trip in April). The onboard monitor says I have 51% of life left. Ford says with normal(ish) driving I should change at 7,500-10,000 miles. Is there a scientific reason to do so sooner?
Also, I am out of Ford Points. Any reason not to go to a Jiffy Lube-type place when the time comes? I have used them in the past with other (non-Hybrid) cars without problem.

You will get many opinions. PERSONALLY I feel best doing the first oil change early, if for no other reason than to flush out some of the stuff from the engine seals, manufacturing, etc... I just so happened to get my second oil analysis back from Blackstone a few days ago. Here are the results. You can see the decrease in the metals and other sealants.

Depending on your driving style and what loads you put on your engine, change the oil as often as gives you peace-of-mind.

Just for FYI. There is a engine cover on the underside it has 15 torq screws I would be concerned with them stripping them tighten them. When I change mine I jack the drivers side up 3 to 4 inches I can slide right under no issue in my garage. I enjoy doing my own oil changes, I would change to first one early.

Are you sticking with that interval? What kind of oil are you using?

That interval was mostly based on the oil monitor telling me it was getting close (I think I was at 10 or 15% life remaining). I don't drive many miles, so it was mostly based on the fact that I last changed it in August of last year and that I idle a lot due to remote starting the truck to warm it up in the cold months (I park outside). I plan to mostly follow the oil monitor recommendations for when to change the oil.

Oil was/is Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic.

The first couple changes I would do at around 5-6k. Then after that if you use full synthetic (not synth blend) I would do 8 - 10k unless it tells you to change earlier. I have the same hybrid engine in my C-Max and I don't worry about going 10k on full synthetic but generally try and change it closer to 8k. I don't think Ford has done a single oil change on this engine and I'm at around 85k.

I have a 2002 ford explorer I have ran full synth from the beginning and I follow the same cycle. I have over 215k miles, and the engine is still strong without any issues.

Did you look in the Owners Manual?

Yep. As I stated - 7,500-10,000.
I pose the question because a lot of members recommend an earlier change - sometimes much, much earlier.

Ive always done my 1st oil change myself at 3k miles on new cars. Then every 3.5-5k miles after, using full synthetic oil.

Given the screaming about bad engines on this website, I was initially concerned about doing an early change on a motor that had not been broken in yet. I changed mine at 7500km (5000mi), and then again at 12000km (7500mi) because the dealer put the wrong 5W30 oil in it for the EcoBoost instead of the required 0W20. Both times the oil was clean and no metal in it. I did notice that the change to the correct oil drastically improved my mileage, going from 5.4L/100km (43mpg) to 4.4L/100km (53mpg) or 25% better almost instantly. I do not plan on any future changes until the oil life monitor tells me to do so, roughly once/year.

I would follow the Ford oil monitor and maybe change it a little early 10-15% left.
I had 3 Ford Edges before my Maverick and followed the monitor and had no engine issues. 90,000-150,000 and 120,000 miles.

Early oil change at the Ford Dealer is cheap insurance. I call the oil in from the factory "Break in Oil".
With all the recalls on these units I would consider having it checked out updated and the first early oil change around 5K to 6K . The next oil change could be a longer time / miles on the oil. I like to maintain the FoMoCo warranty with the service records from the Ford Dealer service as well.
Later on the quick change oil service is Okay! I also tend to supply a premium grade oil and ask for the empty oil bottles back to insure they put the good stuff in. Good Luck.
