....so y'all are saying not to get the Recall software update for the rear tail light or is it one of the Hybrid recalls to hold off on?
the taillight warning recall is a ecm and bcm reflash. that, apparently, causes these hybrid issues. sometimes just DTC and driveable, sometimes major loss of power, and sometimes a completely dead vehicle. and, certainly, sometimes nothing at all.

I have not seen a case reported of an ecoboost with issues after the recall.

also - the grabby brake tsb (2 versions) were also reflashes and didn't cause any hybrid problems that I can remember. it sure seems like someone at ford royally screwed up this latest firmware package.

This may be only a hybrid thing but my ecoboost has done some weird shit too. One day it told me to " push in clutch to start" I wish. 6spd eco that would be cool. Another day all the collision avoidance, traction control, hill holding and a bunch of other related faults just stacked up. Had to go in and clear them. Never happened again. Another time no screen just black everything worked no display. Disconnected the battery all good
Just the other day I had no radio. No FM ,no AM
Just my phone trying to connect. Nothing could override it just 25mins of spinning wheel of death until I pulled over and pulled out my Leatherman disconnected my battery for a few then reconnected and everything was good again. Weird gremlins

That's how I interpret the current state of affairs.

After I got it home, I called out from work and waited for the dealership to open. When I called them, the service manager was able to pull up the fault codes and told me to bring it in. When I drove it the dealership there were no problems except the check engine light was on. Currently waiting for the dealership to call back with a solution.

I have never had a problem with this dealership's service department (Wichita Falls Ford), so I'm trying to be positive (although I did notice two Mavericks in the service yard).
Dealers can pull up fault codes remotely? Did not know that.

Welcome to the dreaded limp mode club. My Hybrid Maverick did this same thing twice last month. Each time it happened, I was in a position where I could let the vehicle sit for a few hours, then went out and reset all the fault codes which restored the vehicle back to a perfectly functional condition. About 2 weeks passed between occurrences for me, and both were at low speed after I just started driving.

Pulled out of the driveway and went about a block and the truck started dinging and the dash display started to go haywire.

The first warning was "passenger sensor blocked". I've seen this before because I keep a lot of stuff in the passenger seat and it's no big deal to me. Then the fun began.

Then I got the message about the pre-collision assist not available (which I've seen before when there is moisture on the windshield). Then the warnings on the dash started popping up quicker than I could clear them. I got the service engine soon, followed by power train malfunction and then it said that the transmission was in low and the "D" on the shift knob was flashing. I pulled over and the parking brake engaged before I even stopped (with a warning on the dash informing me of this). I immediately shut the truck off, pulled the key, and opened the door to shut it down completely.

When I restarted the truck, all of the warnings started marching across the display. Since I was only two blocks from home, I decided to get it back to my driveway and hook up the OBDII reader when it gets light out.

The thing that really bothered me was that when I drove the two blocks to get home, I had to ride the brakes the whole way. If I took my foot off the brakes pedal, the truck would accelerate. Got it home and I'm going to get the OBDII codes when it gets light out.

I will follow up as more information becomes available. I will call my dealership when they open at 9:00.

Yesterday I got recall notice 24c01. The problems described in the first post look like the problems the recall is trying to address. It is presented as something that sometimes can happen. We are getting our software update on Friday. Our dealer is sending someone to our house and they will do it here, which is a nice convenience.

pretty wacky....I'd have pulled over and called it a day, your foot could have slipped off the brake pedal and you could have had a pretty terrible accident.

I was only two blocks from home, so I took the chance.

Happened to me. Truck spent two weeks at the dealer getting a new PCR. Request a loaner.
