the taillight warning recall is a ecm and bcm reflash. that, apparently, causes these hybrid issues. sometimes just DTC and driveable, sometimes major loss of power, and sometimes a completely dead vehicle. and, certainly, sometimes nothing at all.....so y'all are saying not to get the Recall software update for the rear tail light or is it one of the Hybrid recalls to hold off on?
Which software updates are you referring to?Wow the software update claims another one....
That's how I interpret the current state of affairs.....so y'all are saying not to get the Recall software update for the rear tail light or is it one of the Hybrid recalls to hold off on?
Yep, that certainly would be cool. One day it told me to " push in clutch to start" I wish. 6spd eco that would be cool.
Dealers can pull up fault codes remotely? Did not know that. After I got it home, I called out from work and waited for the dealership to open. When I called them, the service manager was able to pull up the fault codes and told me to bring it in. When I drove it the dealership there were no problems except the check engine light was on. Currently waiting for the dealership to call back with a solution.
I have never had a problem with this dealership's service department (Wichita Falls Ford), so I'm trying to be positive (although I did notice two Mavericks in the service yard).
Meme => linkPulled out of the driveway and went about a block and the truck started dinging and the dash display started to go haywire.
The first warning was "passenger sensor blocked". I've seen this before because I keep a lot of stuff in the passenger seat and it's no big deal to me. Then the fun began.
Then I got the message about the pre-collision assist not available (which I've seen before when there is moisture on the windshield). Then the warnings on the dash started popping up quicker than I could clear them. I got the service engine soon, followed by power train malfunction and then it said that the transmission was in low and the "D" on the shift knob was flashing. I pulled over and the parking brake engaged before I even stopped (with a warning on the dash informing me of this). I immediately shut the truck off, pulled the key, and opened the door to shut it down completely.
When I restarted the truck, all of the warnings started marching across the display. Since I was only two blocks from home, I decided to get it back to my driveway and hook up the OBDII reader when it gets light out.
The thing that really bothered me was that when I drove the two blocks to get home, I had to ride the brakes the whole way. If I took my foot off the brakes pedal, the truck would accelerate. Got it home and I'm going to get the OBDII codes when it gets light out.
I will follow up as more information becomes available. I will call my dealership when they open at 9:00.
pretty wacky....I'd have pulled over and called it a day, your foot could have slipped off the brake pedal and you could have had a pretty terrible accident.Pulled out of the driveway and went about a block and the truck started dinging and the dash display started to go haywire.
