Hmm…I could be wrong. My apologies. What he saying seems reasonable. However, something made the fluid change color. What? I’m guessing use and heat.

Who’s a worry wort specifically?********More baloney from a worry wart.
Daniel did not have a transmission failure. it was a broken wire and hard to diagnose. Probably snagged plowing into heavy snow or some other stuff he had fun doing in his videos. Our cobalt had the same issue. Was stolen then found all beat up. Chevy went as far as pulling it just like in Daniels case. Took a LOT of effort and time to figure it out.
Changed all my factory fluids at 1 year. Don't drive my Maverick that much, mostly weekend driver with the family. Changed my PTU, RDU, and transmission fluid around 10,000-12,000 miles. My ATF looked just like yours. I will change the fluids once a year. Change my oil every 4,000 miles.I’m going to speak strongly about this. With myself and others finding their PTU’s under filled, lots of metal debris and the fluid of very bad condition (mine was more than 50% underfilled!). There being no real break-in procedure for the 2.0 EB engine (Ford doesn’t put in break-in oil at the factory). The color of the transmission fluid i just changed at 5800 miles. Everyone! Please listen to me. Change your engine, PTU, transmission & RDU at at east 5000 miles If not change the PTU oil as soon as you take delivery. Don’t rely on the warranty to make things right. The PTU underfiling and the transmission fluid issues are things that will surely prematurely fail after our warranty ends. I personally want my Maverick to last a long time. Not sure what point the OP is making. Seems to be saying that Ford is underfilling engine oil and/or transmission fluid. Why would Ford do that? I seriously doubt that engine oil is added manually at the factory. Just as beer isn't manually added to the bottle at the brewery (just manually emptied). I'm confused.

There's no way there going to check the PTU or transmission fluid levels on a PDI were lucky if they checked the oil. I don't even think its on there check list. Most dealers don't even set the correct tire pressure, when I picked my truck up on my way home I said to my self boy this really drives like a truck, then checked the tire pressure it was all over the place 42/44 I brought it down to 35 it was a different ride completely. Ive had 2 oil changes already at 9k the first time they put 6qts in, I made them remove 1/2 QT on the second oil change I asked the service adviser to write on the repair order 5.5 qts only!!

After reading through this post I am bringing my Maverick to my local mechanic who is going to change the RDU oil and check the other oil levels. Have 35K miles on the truck.

Thanks for this thread. Because of it I just took my 2022 Lariat 2.0 in and with 21k miles (just bought 6 weeks ago) I had a complete fluid change service done. Flush and replace coolant, brake fluid change, oil change and transmission and transfer case fluid/oil changed and you were spot on. My tranny fluid looks just like your pic and was told lot of metal shavings in the transfer case oil and low as well. Actually called 1 Ford dealer's service department and the dude stated he has no knowledge of this since they haven't done a tranny orr transfer case job yet. I told him be prepared
Anyone know the ATF capacity for the 2.0L EB with AWD?
