I read that some were finding ptu underfilled and took it upon my self to check the tranny, ptu and rdu myself. Dealer kind of giving me a barely Luke warm feeling now. I’m not confident. Apparently they don’t do oil analysis, they just look at the oil and for any metal debris and chase faults...
Nothing was acting up. I heard about the PTU’s being underfilled from the factory. I then deciphered the writing on the wall and changed all the fluids in the PTU, RDU and trans. I’m not encouraging or discouraging. I’m am recommending actions based on my investigations. Let me reiterate this...
I understand. The issue is not the oil. It’s the low level I found in my PTU, not having a break-in interval and possibly the quality of the materials & manufacturing tolerances of the PTU & to a lesser degree the RDU.
