Can anyone tell me if the ride noise is better in a Lariat over the XLT. I am going on the fence on ordering to a Lariat in September and selling my XLT. I love my truck but sometimes think the grass might be greener on the other side.

To be fair, I haven't driven the Lariat but the XL seemed pretty quiet inside to me.

Lariat has less noise because of the acoustically treated windshield.
And becuase of that, if you need to replace a windshield on a XL or XLT, see if you can get a Lariat windshield installed instead of the stock XL/XLT part.

Still waiting to be scheduled, but don't forget the Lariat also has 18' wheels with Michelin Primacy tires. In my experience the road noise from tires would predominate over wind noise. I would expect the decrease from the windshield to be real, but minor, compared to the improvement from the Michelin premium tires.

Because the maverick is a bit of a box with a bed, you definitely hear the wind noise over the road noise in my XLT Hybrid on stock wheels.

Per my experience Lariat is quieter inside compared to XLT. If you can afford, please get Lariat with Luxury package; lMHO it is worth it.

Ford should have provided ventilated seats, rain sensing wipers, homelink, folding side mirrors, and wireless CarPlay in Lariat trim or in Luxury package. I hope these will be available in 2023/2024 model. Guess many of these can be added aftermarket but l prefer factory option.

My dealer told me that the Lariat has added sound deadening insulation in the A-Pillar between the engine compartment and the front doors. Not sure if this is true, but my Maverick/Lariat trim is nearly as quiet as the Camry XLE I traded in... Really pleased with the low volume of road noise I am getting...

My 18" Michelin Primacy tires are pretty quiet on the road in my Lariat. My truck is as quiet as most of the cars I have been in. Sound is not an issue in my truck at 8K but I doubt I would rebuy these tires. Reviews are not good for the tire compared to the other Michelins. People complain the Primacy is a very cheap Michelin prone to blowouts, sidewall issues and poor tire wear. I don't plan on rotating them with AWD so I'll see how they last at 25-30K. Tread pattern looks like it is made for pure highway driving so it may lousy in the snow even if they are quiet on the highway.

I would SERIOUSLY doubt there is a difference.
I found the noise to be a bit bad on my Lariat. I added sound deadener to the floor and it made a good difference.

Bought an XLT for a (ordered in 21, delivered in 23) XLT friend and a Lariat for me. Drove hers for about a month before she flipped it. The Lariat is maybe a bit quieter, but it is also that the frequencies of sounds are different. The extra dampening (acoustic glass and probably some foam in the A pillars) makes the noises that do come through lower frequency. Of course the B&O sound system lends a higher quality feel to the sound environment. It's a good moderate system. Mids are very good (like John Mayer, not Sir Mix A Lot).

On the other side of the coin, vinyl and plastic reflect a lot more noise than cloth (you'd be amazed how much louder aircraft are with leather interiors, but airlines seem to prefer them). When we transitioned to leather seats I bet the increase in noise was 5-8db, maybe 10.

We have fake suede (alacantra) in our Tesla X. That stuff is a sound sponge.
