I have a '23 XLT Hybrid (35 months old, 22Kmiles). Never failed to start or gone to deep sleep, but it has been increasingly going to battery saver and cutting things like entry lights. Dealer says battery tests a little low, but not in warranty. Was in Costco recently and they had the...
Mobile tech from D&D Motors showed up early and took about 35' to do the 2 updates.
He confirmed Ford had released the 24S27 on Friday. He hooked up the jumper cable before he started the updates, connecting his laptop to the OBD port thru his diagnostic device. He updated the PCM first, then...
So I called Ford Customer service this morning, and the robo response was that the 24S27 is still active. I then called the D&D remote service booking lady and she confirmed that it had indeed been stopped, but was now on go again from Ford. ( I assume they may have sent an update to the BCM...
Last Wednesday, after my selling dealer wanted me to show up at 8AM and leave the truck all day (again) to do 2 recalls, I called another dealer (D&D Ford) who had offered to do mobile updates. Sure enough they scheduled me for Monday PM. However, Friday am they called and said Ford had put a...
I have a '23 Mav XLT hybrid. Mounted Michelins at ~400 miles on original rims. 7500 rotation yesterday. Today I performed the flasher/ release air method and it worked first time. No need for a TMPS tool.
@T-Dog is correct. Tires are built up in layers on a cylindrical form. The indentation is caused by a too heavy splice of the carcass layer, thus it is stronger, and on inflation is more constrained. There should be no more than one sidewall indentation (at the same place on both sides) per...
After numerous failed attempts to update using my home wifi signal, I finally made it to the dealer.
The salesman provided me with the customer wifi password, I parked near the building. The download began counting up right away. Took about 10' to download, and another 10' to install. When I...
The standard for repair from responsible (meaning they don't want to be sued) tire manufacturers and dealers is to remove the tire, INSPECT, then depending on the inspection, PLUG and PATCH in the tread area, and probably rebalance after remount. If you don't inspect, you wont know the damage...
I replaced the Contis with Michelin Defender 2s, and added the Muslogy splash guards (with the felt tape). BAK sent new rear corners which were easy to replace on the X4s. I added the extra pieces for improved water protection as advised in the videos on Todd's truck life, but the X4s is not...
I did the soft reset and have tried to update another 3 times, with no success! I will try to get the dealer to do it when I see them to check the passenger seat height adjustment in 2 more weeks.
Really good advice from RLmesc! Using a mismatched tire is almost as bad as using the "full size" spare furnished by Ford! It should only be a temporary solution.
Mine is also stuck at 1.9.0.1. The 5Mhz WiFi shows "good" signal. Tried again today for 1 hour with no result except now I can't set the update to "automatic".
I removed the Contis and installed Michelin Defender 2 OEM size tires for personal reasons.
The Michelins are noticeably quieter, have a little better on-center feel and handling, and a little smoother ride. I bought the tires at Discount Tire with their guarantee cost(an additional $40 each)...
My salesman installed the bed mat and tailgate protector as a courtesy, but you are responsible for installation costs. Consider this a before-delivery negotiable item, but I doubt you will be able to get it installed for the cost in Ford's accessory web-site.
I inquired from my salesman after the truck was delivered (Feb 21). He said Ford had stopped sending the kits, but he was able to find one for me for a customer who did not want his.
I did receive the felt protective tape from Muslogy. It is not double-sided, and I would suggest to apply it to the inside corners of the splash guards where it may protect the paint surfaces. It is a little fussy to do, and I did it inside using good lighting.
The install was very easy using...
I am also looking for a "new age wax". I am considering Mother's 1-step clay bar ceramic product for use on Area 51 paint. Has anyone tried this one or compared it to other easy on products?
BTW are recommendations different for paints like Area 51 as compared to the metallic paints with a clear...
