My son helped me install mine. They are great. Lifts the hood a little higher than that stick in the front that always gets in the way. You can watch the video, but go with the written instructions. The video goes over some stuff too quickly. Maybe took a half hour to install. I also put a strut on the tailgate.

Put MRT hood struts on my Maverick about a year ago. There was a comment about a salesman putting a customers hood up and a gust of wind blew it back toward the cab and wracked it. I don't even think about them now. Open the hood and the hood goes up and stays up. Will be putting MRT's on my ' 24 Maverick next week.

I installed Klutchtech struts off of Amazon, custom-fit for Maverick. They are pricey at $53, but worth it to me. 30 minute install, no drilling. These are my first hood struts; I didn't feel I needed them until I opened my hood for the first time. The weight of the hood, the flimsy structure of the prop rod, and the cheap way the rod held onto the hood put the fear of God into me. I feel better with the struts. Chacun a son gout.

I installed the MRT struts and they've been on the truck for almost a year. For the times when you need to have the hood open, they're great. I like the extra couple of degrees of angle you get when the hood is open and you avoid the hood prop getting in the way. I even removed the hood prop to help clean up the engine bay just a bit.

I had the MRT struts on my 2022 and the actually raised the hood higher than the prop rod did.

When I ordered for my 2023, they didn’t work at all. The hood could only be opened with someone lifting the hood while the release was being pulled.

I contacted MRT and they said I wasn’t the first person to have this issue. Apparently, Ford made a minor modification to the hood. MRT sent new brackets and after installation, the hood works well. The only issue is that the hood doesn’t go has high as the prop rod. I lost about six inches of height.

I also installed Klutchtech struts off of Amazon. Easy, straight forward to install and initially they worked as advertised. Now that the weather has turned cold or the fact they are few months old, they will not hold the hood open. They are pretty much useless! All is not lost. since I do have the mounting brackets I think I will search Rockauto.com and find the appropriate length stronger struts.
My advice is to stay away from the Klutchtech strut kit.

Too much wind around here to trust using struts mounted at the rear...for the very, very few times I would open them. The rod is far safer in the Wyoming wind.

They're BS-ing you and blaming it on Ford. There were people with 2022's encountering the problem as well with MRTs. It's not uncommon with other hood struts for these trucks; the hood latch just needs the right amount of movement to advance to the next stage and hood struts can add a little extra resistance that prevents it. A cheap "fix" is to add a hood spring.

In 2 years of ownership, I've opened the hood 3 maybe 4 times. Very light and stick works so easily. Tailgates on the other hand are well worth it.

One mod I won't be doing, not worth it.
