Put mine in today. Quick 20 minute job. Do pay attention to the hood alignment as they say in the instructions.

They look great and have to be better than the factory strut.

The Factory did not supply struts. It's a prop rod.

I'm with Testa422 where are you gonna get the brackets Because there aren't any for the lower mount or the top mount, By the time you get done dickin around with trying to fabricate your own it's cheaper to just buy the ones that somebody's already taken the time to go through all the headaches and make them right the 1st time

Those are not even for the Maverick they're for the Escape

This was a painful thread to read. So little about the actual struts. Someone wants to make them themselves, or source parts and fab brackets? Great. Someone wants to spend over $100 for someone else's planning/work/sourcing? Great.

Choices. It's wonderful. For all different types of skills and budgets. Isn't America great? What's the issue?

Thanks for the info. I watched the factory video and it looks like it would be easy for someone working toward the back of the engine compartment to pop the struts off for better access if needed.
I also wonder if they will help some folks with hood shake issues since they appear to be compressed while the hood is down. That tension may keep the hood shake from happening.
Have you actually installed these or just passing on an item of interest?

Installed them on my XLT….vendor originally sent wrong hardware package, called they overnighted correct nuts and bolt, took about an hour to install. Like having that prop rod out of my way and they look cool.

Installed Redline hood struts today. Less expensive than MRT, and you only remove one bolt on the hood mount.

Redline has two versions
QuickLIFT Plus
QuickLIFT Elite which is stainless steel and has a year extra warranty (5 yrs)

I have 2 now - just installed set on my 2007 Mustang. Bought the set with color matched brackets - Christmas Special.

I just installed mine. Love them. Only time will tell how good they are. MRT's were $69. Redline ad states $139.
