E shifter vs dial shifter

I would immediately buy a Maverick if it had an E shifter instead of the dial shifter which I consider cumbersome; especially to older drivers. What say you?

I love the dial shifter, it's super intuitive, easy to operate without ever looking down and frees up space without a phallic looking thing getting in the way. I don't understand the hate for it, I think some people are just stubborn and opposed to embracing new ideas which means they'll never understand them and will just keep feeding their bias that it's inferior.

What space does it free up?
You know, that thing called vertical space for those of us who acknowledge living in 3 dimensions? So it's not in the way of grabbing things in your console area? I get it, a lot of guys have this Freudian need for a pole to grab on to but to me an actual shifter is unnecessary.

I'd also prefer a standardized shifter but I don't mind the dial one either. Honestly, whichever one is easier on the transmission, I'm all for it. I'm glad at least that FORD's dial shifter isn't as gaudy looking as some others I have seen. I definitely preferred the one in my previous '22 Escape to the on in the '22 Maverick too.

I'm fine with the dial shifter in the maverick. The wife's expedition has the dial shifter also. But I do agree I like the looks of the e-shifter in the 4x4 versions of the 2024 Ranger Lariat and Raptor trims. Real sporty looking and low profile.

Well this post is going too worry ford. You won't buy the truck without the regular shifter. What are they going to do.

Took me a few months to get use to the dial shifter on my Bronco Sport. Have no problem with it on the Maverick. Would be nice to also have the dial for the driving Modes like on the Sport. I don't like the button.

They should just remove the shifter all together and add the shift controls to the mypass app. Then there is nothing to complain about.

Our '21 Escape PHEV has a nicer dial shifter than the Mav. Solid detents & stops on ' D'. Mav rotates all around.
