  1. Does Rotary Shifter suck?

I read all the responses and was puzzled by many of the reasons to hate the rotary shifter. As many commented, it works for me quite well. After starting the truck in the garage or parking space, one click to the right puts it into reverse, and a quick spin to the right puts it into drive...
  2. Non-Hybrid Ecoboost 2.0 AWD MPG

Yes, it appears that we have covered everything about the Maverick now and the forum is useless. Bye all.
  3. Non-Hybrid Ecoboost 2.0 AWD MPG

After gently driving around town for the last month and a half since I got the truck and averaging 26 MPG (auto-stop-start off), I finally performed a one hour round trip on the interstate. It seems that highway speeds in the 50's would help MPG, but driving over 70 hit a limit of a little over...
  4. CARBONIZED GRAY Maverick Photos Thread

    what is this?
  5. My salesman asked for a better rating.

I gave my dealer a top rating because they asked me to and they were straight with me. No pressure, no surprise charges, vehicle delivered in 3 months. That said, I can't say that the salesman cared much about me and my wife or the progress of the order. With appointments, we had long waits...
  6. Horn doesn’t work in center (pics/vid inside)

Actually, I think the beam changing works automatically. Even us with no brains are protected. :)
  7. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Went to Lowes and picked up 15 bags of mulch and two adirondack chairs with room in the bed to spare. Someone with a Santa Cruz loaded up next to me and filled up the bed with 15 bags of mulch. This is the first time the new truck has carried a load.
  8. Rear wheelwell opening fix.

I've been watching the left rear wheel splash issue for solutions and noticed that WeatherTech has a set of rear mudflaps that seems to address it, shown below. Has anyone tried these? They are expensive, and I am thinking maybe others will follow with offerings.
  9. Rendering of 2025 Maverick facelift / refresh update

Glad I'm not the only one. One reason I wanted a new truck is because I wanted a vehicle with controls more like our Honda CR-V. The truck I was driving had a column shifter while the CR-V had a console shifter, and the truck didn't have the new digital features. While I love my Maverick, it...
  10. Spray in Bedliner, what happens to the weep holes that allow water to drain out of the bed?

I find a rubber bed mat to be useful in mitigating the unstoppable tonneau cover leakage at the cab. Water just runs out under the mat not affecting contents.
  11. Just got my XLT and I like it alot

Ouch! If I quit driving then, I'll only have used my Maverick 1-4 years. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am (2.5 weeks now).
  12. 2025 Santa Cruz gets Refreshed, Maverick's Korean Rival

Will they add some leg room? How did the extra 3" Maverick length turn into a 6" longer bed and so much more leg room than the Santa Cruz?
  13. MY local dealer, on site mavs

When mine was delivered, I waited a day before picking it up (just to excite you guys checking inventories). I can't say the dealer was playing tricks because it was delivered late Sunday and they called me first thing Monday morning to say I could pick it up. When I waited a day, they seemed...
  14. Why the #!!%$ is Liability Insurance so Costly for the Maverick?

People, quit quoting me in posts about the increasing cost of auto insurance and implying I'm stupid. I know the cost of insurance is skyrocketing, and I know that you should shop around to get the best rate. The point was that my insurance company (The Hartford) wanted more premium for...
  15. Pros and Cons so far

I have the Fx4 package and moonroof and pretty much agree with your assessments.......I haven't driven out of the city limits so only get 24.5 mpg driving between traffic lights.......I get seat belt chimes in anything I drive, but having to press the OK button to turn off the seat belt display...
  16. Three Mavericks in a "Parking" Lot (Four if I could count)

It is in that calves are usually unbranded. Mavericks are unbranded cattle. Got the name because a guy with the last name Maverick didn't brand his cattle, so whenever seen "oh those are Maverick's".
  17. Bed Light Control

Like other vehicles, every light turns on when you shut down and exit the vehicle, then times out. Not too good for sneaking up on game at night in the woods or nighttime home robberies.
  18. Bed Light Control

Found out today that I was driving around during the day with the bed light on. I haven't paid any attention to the switch since I got the truck, and as far as I can see, there is no way of knowing whether it is on or off during the day except walking around to the back of the truck and looking...
  19. Why the #!!%$ is Liability Insurance so Costly for the Maverick?

This thread has turned into a discussion of increasing insurance rates in general, so I'll make one last post about the affect of the Maverick on my auto liability insurance rate. The Hartford charged me $1,317/year for a 2019 Honda CR-V and a 2004 Colorado on 1/7/2024 The Hartford is charging...
  20. Why the #!!%$ is Liability Insurance so Costly for the Maverick?

I'm not complaining about higher liability insurance rates year after year. I'm trying to rationalize why my Maverick is a greater liability risk (according to the insurer) than the 2004 Colorado it replaced. I chatted with AARP Hartford Underwriters today and got the following answer to my...
