My vehicle was at Gordie Boucher in Kenosha, WI for 4 days with the issue being a rattle coming from the dashboard/ windshield area. When going over a bumpy road. It never got fixed. 4 days at Boucher Ford in Kenosha, WI. On day 2, I was told they hear the rattle but need more time. Day 3, waiting to hear back from a Ford engineer on how to proceed. Day 4, the Ford engineer advised to keep tearing it down and put a stethoscope on the frame to hear where the noise is coming from. Upon hearing this baloney, I asked how does someone put a stethoscope on the frame when it is tore down, when it is going down a bumpy road, because that is the only time it makes the noise. I told them to put it back together. 4 days for this piece of advice? I will take it to a different dealer and I'm done forever with Boucher Ford in Kenosha, WI.

if Ford has paid for the labor to date what makes you think they will agree to pay again?
you should give them a few more days

How long have you had the vehicle? Has it gotten worse in the cold?

It might be the windshield alignment pucks hitting the metal. Ford resealed my windshield to fix it. You can also melt off the pucks. Search the forum for more.

You've obviously never worked on cars.

It's a real thing! While I'm no master mechanic, I've got a mechanic's stethoscope in my garage. I've used it numerous times, especially when tracking down unnerving noises on my motorcycles.

That said, my dash also has a bit of a rattle on bumpy roads. I'll get to the bottom of it, eventually! But probably not while driving and using my stethoscope!

Trying to pinpoint a “rattle” behind the dash while only going over bumpy roads is not as easy as you think it is.

Had the airbag recall done, which in turn fixed the dash rattle in the Mav.

love my rig but the rattles are insane. I’ve owned 40 year old vehicles that don’t rattle like the maverick. I think at this point one may just have to accept it.

My rattle came from air vent area rubbing on dash I was able to stop rattle by inserting felt cloth strips in this area and it stopped, also search forums here for more information there is a lot to read and it helped tremendously

We have noise analyzers which can be attached at various points of the vehicle to detect and locate noises. They are very helpful in finding rattles and pops from suspension parts. Interior noises are much harder sometimes to pinpoint and locate, especially when they are only evident under certain conditions. My Mav had a strange rattle which sounded more like a rub/vibration type rattle from day one. The first day my wife road with me she fixed it. She did the old " Fonzy" (hit it) on the passenger A-pillar moulding(between the windshield and door) and it hasn't made noise since.

Both my 23 and 24 lariats have a rattle on the right side between the dash and windshield when driving on bumpy roads. They had it in day one when I got the vehicle from the dealer.

Does the noise sound like a rumble or a rattle? My 22 has a rumble over rough roads and I swear it is the HVAC duct. My new 24 does not have that so they figured it out. They should, after 2+ years and a fix be able to sort it out. Maybe it is like another poster wrote, related to the windshield. Mine is the acoutsic glass [Lariat]

I had a vehicle that had a squeaking in the back when going bumps. For the life of me I could not find it. Finally had someone else drive while I was in the trunk.
Turns out the trunk hinge weld had broken, but you couldn't any visible sign of it, but as soon as I put pressure on the spot, the noise when away.

Mine had a rattle and I found it to be my overhead door opener hanging on the sunvisor
