I am pretty sure I am changing my order from an XL hybrid to an XLT hybrid. Here is my reasoning: chances are decreasing that mine will get built as the weeks progress, I may have to reorder. Last year the price increase was $1,200 for the XL and I will assume it will be at least the same for the MY 24. A $1,200 increase for the 24 XL is nearly the difference between the XL and the XLT in the current model year. And I feel like that the XL hybrids are predominantly going towards fleet with a few retail orders sprinkled in. I might take the 2 grand hit for the fancy seats and the rims (pretty much the only difference in the XL and the XLT) and hope the change gets me plucked from the great unwashed masses of the “ XL hybrid-ers “.

Might help, might not. My XLT hybrid was ordered in Sept. and I'm still unscheduled.

I was in the same predicament, but three weeks ago, I changed to an EB and kept the XL. I was scheduled last Thursday.

Also, I think the truck will be much more expensive next year. I think Ford realizes they are leaving money on the table with the current Maverick pricing.

If I have bought several cars at a dealership I expect to be prioritized ahead of others that haven't.

So many of you bitch about Ford taking too many orders but then you advocate putting in multiple orders, especially for hybrids. You are part of the problem.

If there is no change in your order status what do you want the dealer or Ford to communicate to you? If anything the dealer could of called and asked if you wanted to drop any constrained items for a possibly faster build.

Ford doesn't know which orders won't be built yet. They haven't finished scheduling for the model year.

If you can't be patient there is always the Santa Cruz.

Emailed my dealer on my hybrid...ordered 9/22 and confirmed mid May. He's saying to relax, the system on his end still shows the week of July 24 for a start. So we'll wait, fingers crossed, rabbit's foot out, lucky underwear on...

I don't think the price increases are going to be a much as some may think.

I did this and got scheduled about a week later. No idea if it was allocations, being bumped from 15 to 14 priority code, Ford increasing hybrid production, or what. But I doubt changing to XLT hurts anything at this point - it can only help.

Texted my sales rep and found out he didn't even know about the email Ford sent out. He's thinking more of the MY23 orders in July would be EcoBoost only. I'm going back and forth on switching my order over to the EB or going "big baller" and just order a 2024 Ranger. Feel like with the Ranger, at least there will be a bit more communication than on Mavericks. Luckily, my current car is still in good condition and has actually held its value quite well.

I got an email from Ford on Tuesday that my order was confirmed. For those of you who don't know my backstory here it is. Ordered 9/16/2022 and was built and was being shipped. However my truck was destroyed in a train derailment in April. Its taken 2 months for my dealer to get my order re-submitted and confirmed by Ford. I noticed that my priority code had gone from 10 to 80. I called the dealer and expressed concern. He stated that won't matter. He said Ford knows what happened to the original order and will make it right. I just wish they would tell me if the damn thing is going to be built. I contact the Corporate HQ about every 2 weeks and get nothing. If your not building it give me my deposit back. I agree with many of you that Ford created this mess by not being prepared for the popularity of the Maverick and royally screwed up using the rail company with the WORST safety record in the entire country. Once bitten, twice shy?

I have no faith that I will get picked today. I left an honest post on my dealerships social media site Monday stating my concerns that they are "about the customer" (that was their post I commented honestly on)...when I never get updates or any news on my order or anything in general from them even after almost a year or waiting.

Sales manager called me yesterday pissed off asking I remove the post...and long story short after 30min call...he mentioned that all the orders were placed fairly, followed by 20 seconds later, me asking him if all the orders were the same priority code (without any rollovers from 22) and he paused...stuttered...and then said that there were business decisions that were made in a few instances, but then stressed all the orders were placed fairly. I then mentioned that if I was a big spender or multi-repeat buyer I would have had a better chance then, and he scolded me for using the term "big spenders" as offensive and unprofessional, and that "relationships" is appropriate and skirted to answer.

So even tho on day 1 I was informed I was one of the first orders placed...a few months ago I found out I was near the bottom of the list...and now hearing this...means they played favorites with a lot of "relationships" and placed a lot before me. He claimed I am at the top for the 2024s tho, but I asked how can he be sure if more "relationships" come in to order a 24, why wouldnt they just get put above mine again...and he skirted the comment and said that it wont. Either way there are still a bunch of vehicles in front of me yet and I am pretty much done expecting to get picked this year. Pretty bummed to now finally know that dealership favorites were placed ahead of my order and it had nothing to do with constraints or anything like that. Dealership just put others as priority over me.
So who's the dealer???

Sounds like you need to find another dealership if you plan to order a 2024. All that mumbo jumbo from the sales manager means take a hike, they do not give a crap.

The email from Ford had the VIn as well as a scheduled start week. When you click on the tracking link, only the confirmation shows. The space for a scheduled week shows blank. If it matched, I'd feel better. Given all the disappointment being shared, I am untrusting given the lack of consistency. My options included hybrid, 300A, 360 copilot, moonroof and hitch. Between hybrid and the hitch, I keep expecting to be let down.

That tracker (accessible from the link in the email) is wonky at best. If you have a VIN and a scheduled start week in July, you're safe.
