Absolutely not true. I have the Ford Maverick drop-in bed liner and I have access to the storage cubbies on both sides of the bed.

PXL_20230417_224157942.jpg
I second that... with a disclaimer...

That depends on who installs the drop in bed liner. Mine was installed by the dealer and they did cover up the cabbies, the light, outlet and most of the tie-down cleats. When I complained, they stated something about the Ford manual, but I proved them wrong. They did refund the cost of it, including the labor, and installed it right for the most part for free....

The green is dye from the factory. It makes ir easier to spot leaks
sort of correct but incomplete. ALL fluids have a different color for a number of reasons: the basic fluid composistion itself: often flourescent dyes are added so that robots can use UV lights to check for leaks and most of those i saw had a slight greenish tint to the naked eye: and for error proofing, as in the folks that load the machines/robots that auto fill brake fluid or engine oil or whatever can tell at a glance if someone f**d up and put the wrong stuff in. further error proofing efforts are in the various connectors. the hose for brake fluid fill only fits that specific container just like the engine oil fill or coolant fill and so on. i am not a engineer so there certainly may be some more technical reason im not aware of, my remarks are based on working in different assembly plants for almost 30yrs and seeing and learning how this stuff is usually done. most folks dont realize it but there is really a GREAT deal of thought & planning involved in mass producing cars and trucks.

I took the rear headrests out over a year ago. Don’t think they’ll ever go back. MUCH better view through the mirror
i did the same thing after reading your post, sure wish i had thought of that myself and done it sooner :) only way they're ever going back in is if i have rear seat passengers along for a 'road trip' somewhere.

I've just tested it on my Lariat and and the short answer is:

no_key.jpg

Without the fab being around three feet from the Maverick, it can not be put into gear, the gear selector switch is locked. When I walked away from the running truck, it beeped twice too, indicating that the fob is out of range.

I am not certain, if this is not the same with the other models (XL, XLT, etc.) with key fobs, the chances are they would behave the same way.
good to know. i have not yet tested this myself with my '23 Lariet Hybrid and was curious. i came from a loaded 2014 escape and once started you could drive it all day without a key fob but once you turned it off you were done without a fob, i dont know if current escapes still allow this or not but i'm glad my Mav doesnt.

His mileage increase has WAY more to do with ethanol content than it does octane. Add ethanol and you decrease mileage. It is that simple. It is the reason why high ethanol E85 is so shit for fuel mileage.
100% agree! other considerations related to gasoline often overlooked besides octane are ethanol % and detergent additive %. the owner's manual recommends whats called 'top tier' 87 octane gas. what that means is that that fuel meets certain fuel industry and Gov standards for fuel detergents and other additives designed to lessen carbon buildup in your engine, this is a good thing people. google the gas stations in your area, you may be suprised at how few sell top tier 100% gas. a lot of 87oct fuel is 'toptier', not so much is zero % ethanol.
next with all do respect to all the corn farmers in Iowa and other ethanol producing states that stuff really doesnt deliever the same performance and MPG as does 100% gasoline according to what i've seen written on this subject. yes its cheaper but there is a tradeoff. depending on where you live it may not be that easy to find 100% gas and usually its almost always 10-25cts more per gallon but far less than what youll pay for 'premium'. its just math, gasoline formulated with 10-15% ethanol is 10-15% less efficient than 100% gas. anecteotally i have seen a 3-4mpg difference and slight perceived performance boost but i admit the latter observation could be influenced by some level of confirmation bias. dont take my word for it, run a few tanks of 100% gas and see if you notice a positive difference, i predict you will.

My visor mirrors do not light up. I think that is exclusive to the Lariat? I have an XLT.
Must be the Lariat, mine don't either. I have the XL because it was the last one left in a 70 mile radius when I got it.

Here's another one to add to your list. Let your wife drive it and you will not have a Maverick any more unless you buy her one.
Sell the wife, keep the maverick. Two birds one maverick.

A "measurable difference" in miles per gallon but not necessarily in dollars per mile.
Dollars per mile is what is important to me
Total cost if ownership including engine wear. Will premium fuel be better for your vehicle’s longevity? I’m not so sure.

I could be mistaken but it seems like if I close the door the horn honks twice when I walk away. It doesn't if I leave the door open. I've never tried to walk very far away. I assumed it was telling me I didn't shut it off.
It is an alert famously known as the "double honk" activated when you leave your vehicle while it is running. Can easily be disabled using Forscan.

OK OP

Please explain:

  1. Your truck has a secret setting for "Police Dark Mode".
  2. Your truck has a secret setting for "Ambulance Mode".
Police keeps interior lighting off when opening door among other things.
Ambulance has to do with special exterior light flashing when specially equipped.

For Police, is it a setting specific to it being ordered to be a police vehicle???
But, a Mav as an ... Ambulance????? I could see it as an "emergency" vehicle of some sort, but ....
